"Evil got into my hand,so i lopped it off at the wrist..."
One of my favourite quotes from my favourite trilogy of films!

This DVD boxet contains all 3 of the greatest horror films known, directed by Sam Raimi and starring Bruce Campbell!
Fancy artwork (by Graham Humphries) helps make this DVD have a great aesthetically pleasing look and gives a shiver down your spine and a small chuckle which all 3 of the Evil Dead films contain.
This Horredy (Horror and Comedy mixed together) are classics right up into present day, Evil Dead 1 filmed in 1981, Evil Dead 2 in 1987 and finally Evil Dead 3 in 1993 still live on in everyones memory for the gore, the pervertedness, the laughs, the jumps and the true grose parts. In all, a great horror collection through and through.

If you didnt know, Evil Dead 1 was filmed on a shoe-string budjet. Filmed by college students, it eventually cost a mere $350,000 (estimated), but the special effects in this film are like none other before and the camera workmanship is great. One thing though, was that this film was actually banned under the "Obscene Publications Act during 1983/4" due to it being a "video nasty". Containing a scene in which one of the characters was raped by a tree. It leaves alot to your imagination....i know!

Evil Dead 2 was then made on higher budget and a total cost of $3.5 million estimated. The special effects improved and the humour is still there as "Evil got into my hand so i lopped it off at the wrist.....". On of the ultimate quotes of our time! This is basically a glammed up version of the Evil Dead 1 to lead up to the blockbuster Evil Dead 3.

Evil Dead 3 was the final contribution from Sam Raimi and is a great film to finish off the series. Evil Dead 3 : Army of Darkness is a outstanding film with some of the best one-liners EVER! You will just keep laughing for ever! Bruce Campbell delivers some of the best dialogue and takes the lead role for the 3rd time and cements himself as a horror legend Ash - "Shop Smart, shop S-mart". Truely hilarious! It is the "Block-buster" of the series as it cost an estimated $11 million dollars to make....

- 'Bruce Campbell: Geek or God?': feature that examines why everyone loves Bruce Campbell
- 'Antihero' - Stravinsky Gave Me Nightmares music video inspired by 'Evil Dead'- pretty weird actually!
- Gallery of decay

Being a limited edition, the series can be quite costly, but i managed to pay £13.99 for mine which i find magnificent value and for a film with so much history its well worth it and i would recommend it to anyone who loves comedys with a bit of gore!
Overall, a total "fistful of boom-stick" for all those wanting a series of films for halloween to be scared...but also to bring a bucket full of laughs!

A bit too much of a listy review for me and not enough regarding the qualities of each film - after all Evil Dead 2 is a work genius! Still helpful to the consumer though and it's always good to see this trilogy of films recieve the accolades they deserve! Alboy
