Advantages: Build up of tension, good cast Disadvantages: Slow burner, you may give up after 30 mins
This is the best example of a 'slow burner' film I've ever seen.
Robert (Winstone) visits a prostitute every day - not for sex, but to ask questions, play board games and chat. The opening 45 mins of this film simply shows him visiting, paying his money and asking questions - most of which Naomi, the prostitute, isn't keen to answer because of the circumstances.
This tension builds up and, as a viewer, keeps you compelled to watch. Why is he visiting ... ...All of the above is answered in the second half of Everything. Just as I was fearing the worst about Winstone's character, some major twists occur and the story begins to unfold. Winstone is superb as usual in the role of Robert. Not much dialogue, but the build up of tension and wonder is done very well.
Nice to see a good independent British film. ...

Advantages: It may induce sleep if you have insomnia. Disadvantages: Dull, very slow moving, dark, pointless film.
...was even more pointless for its own reasons, and confirms the Director really has lost the plot and needs to go and seriously give some thought as to why he even considered this catalogue of calamitous plots for film.
Sorry Ray, your normally brilliant, but this Everything but Good. ...

Advantages: Good songs Disadvantages: Lack of colour
...About the band
Motorhead are a legendary British Heavy Metal band. Formed in 1975, they have gained popularity with such classic albums as overkill and Ace of spades. Their songs cover lots of subjects and many are about life on the road. They remain as a trio and still regularly tour unlike many bands of their status.
About the DVDEverything louder than everything else was recorded live in Munich at the Deutsches museum. It has twelve tracks including ace of spades and killed by death. Another important fact to point out is that the DVD is mainly in black and white and however hard i can try i can't think of a good reason for them to do this. It has interview bits which are humourous and, as always, entertaining. It has been edited a fair bit also but if you look at it overall, it is a fair DVD for the price you can...

Advantages: it is based on a real life book so you cant blame all of the perversion on Allen Disadvantages: it may offend a few people and it isnt that funny
...This film is a comedy with a difference, as Woody Allen wrote, directed and starred in it and poured his alternative humour and eccentricity into the screenplay. According to credits and the international trailer featured on the DVD I own the film is based on a book called Everything You Wanted To Know About Sex by Dr David Reuben. When I first heard of the film I thought this most bizarre, basing a film for widespread cinematic viewing on a book written by a medical doctor that would probably not be read by the majority of its viewers, but I had assumed that the book would be written in a style that those without medical training could understand and may feature material appropriate to be made into a film. Having seen the film I think that was a bit of a misassumption. The film does not piece together at all well, as it is split...

Advantages: a brilliantly strange yet moving film Disadvantages: hard to find in stores
...The film is an adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer's best-selling novel about a young Jewish-American writer of the same name.
it's hard to plaec this film whilst watching it, it has a mix of thought-provoking drama, dark comedy and upbeatness. Ever since he was little the main charcter, (elijah wood) Jonathan collects everything and anything to do with his family, storing them in plastic bags pinned to his wall. the film follows him as he travels to the Ukraine to find out about his grandfather, the only member of his family he knows almost nothing about.
There he meets his barely legitimate tour guides: Alex - obsessed with anything American, Alex's grandfather - a man who pretends to be blind but blatently isn't and Sammy Davis, Jr. Jr, his 'seeing eye bitch' dog! Jonathan very much out of his depth with these companions, sensing...

Review: Winstone has never given a quieter, more effective performance and Graveson is a revelation. (Evening Standard, )
