Advantages: A fantastic collection of shorts. Disadvantages: None.
...Cinema16 is a fantastic compilation of European short films, giving you a glimpse at some of the most undervalued cinematographic handiworks, many who were crafted by some of the leading voices of modern cinema, such as Danish director Lars Von Trier, the controversial English comedian Chris Morris, and even the madcap French director, behind the infamous Dobermann (1999-2000), Jan Kounen.
The funny thing about the Cinema16 DVD is that there is no rating to be found on the box; especially funny when you consider the strictness of the BBFC, and also, it's occasionally ridiculous ratings (for example, Rosemary's Baby being rated 18 - pathetic).
Cinema16 could be considered a "certified 15" in my opinion.
Individually, the short lengths vary between 8 and 20 minutes, frequently between 10 and 15 minutes, bringing the whole 16 shorts...

Advantages: Generally good concert, 'Old Medley' is great. Disadvantages: Bonus features could be better. Needs less pop and more prog!
...Filmed in 1992, 'The Way We Walk' DVD shows concert footage from one of Genesis's later tours. By this time, all the big albums had been released - only the lesser known 'Calling All Stations' with Ray Wilson was still to come.
As it stands, this is a pretty good concert - as expected, most of the hits are there - 'Land Of Confusion, 'Invisible Touch', 'I Can't Dance', etc. They are all pretty similar to the album versions, though there a few alterations - 'No Son Of Mine' enjoying a notable extension and some dramatic guitar-work to finish it off. 'Jesus He Knows Me' has got real pace and excitement, and Phil Collins really brings it to life as he comically assumes the role of a TV evangelist. The song is also rounded off with a superb guitar solo from long-time session player Daryl Stuermer.
In Turn It On Again, the final track...

Advantages: Everything about this DVD is an advantage!!!! Disadvantages: Only if you don't like foreign cinema, and even then you should find something to like in these shorts!
...For those of you that love film, and European film in particular, this DVD is a must have. It consists of 16 short films by some of Europe’s best and brightest directors. Most of them were made before the Directors hit the big time (as far as I can tell but I cannot guarantee that as some of them I haven’t heard of), even including film school graduation shorts.
This DVD consists of 16 funny, innovative and experimental shorts, all with commentaries recorded mainly by the directors themselves.
The short film is incredibly difficult to pull off, economy of script, direction and an ability to convey as much as possible is of vital importance when you need to tell a complete story within a compacted time period. Many a short filmmaker does not pull this off, I’ve seen way too many that are okay or just not entertaining at all...
