Ash Wednesday - Ethan Hawke
I bought this on whim when I was recently stocking up on books for my daily commute. I had no idea that Ethan Hawke was now writing books but was swayed by the cover art and blurb and was intrigued to see the kind of work he was putting out. Pretty thin reasons for buying a book but there you go. Here's what I thought.
As an actor Hawke has been around for many years now, first coming to prominence in the saccharine Robin Williams blub fest that was Dead Poet's Society. Since that time he has appeared in many Hollywood films of varying quality but has managed to build himself a solid reputation as a semi-serious thesp. As an author he published his first novel, 'The Hottest State', in the late nineties and followed it several years later with 'Ash Wednesday'.

Your mission if you choose to accept it ......
Mission Impossible is Tom Cruise at his very best; sexy, funny and strutting his stuff in a high octave action adventure that introduces us to Ethan Hunt the agent we can't forget in a film, whose theme tune we can't stop humming.
Jim is the leader of a highly trained group of espionage assassins working for the government and Ethan Hunt (Cruise) is his point man. Their job is simply to track the man/men that steal the NOC list and deliver them to the powers that be. Simple for such a crack-team or so you'd think. But as you can guess things don't exactly go to plan.
All of the team minus Ethan are killed, or so we believe, in an operation that turns out to be an internal mole hunt to find the insider corrupted by a Czech Arms Dealer known only as Max. Worse still he's framed ...
Advantages: Good food and good beer Disadvantages: Can be very busy
Mao is one of the examples of how Dublin has been transformed into a more cosmopolitan European city in the last few years. Offering a range of Asian cuisine which is not exclusively one style it’s the type of bright café which has gone down well with Dublin’s young professionals and tourists. It’s first restaurant is just off Grafton Street in the city centre and it has now opened a second establishment in Dún Laoghaire.
Once inside Chairman Mao stares down from various Andy Warhol style coloured prints. The menu offers a nice range of Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese cuisine which can be washed down with some very nice beers such as Tiger, Cobra or slightly closer to home Budvar. The meals list a spice factor which means the Irish palatte which may not be used to hot food can avoid having to consume litres ...

DVD Description
Resorting to a life of hustling after his parents find a pornographic gay magazine in his room and kick him out, Ethan Mao quickly learns how to survive on the streets. Popular with older men craving some young Asian loving, Ethan also forges a strong bond with Remigio, an attractive pimp of sorts who gets Ethan acquainted with drugs and other illegal activities. After learning that Ethan's family is away for the holidays, the two young men go to Ethan's former home to retrieve his belongings. But what starts out as a simple mission becomes a highly complicated mental, emotional, and physical struggle when Ethan's father shows up and a hostage situation ensues.
