Advantages: An other Ernest film? Disadvantages: Chase goes on a bit
...Director: John R Cherry
Cast: Jim Varney, Ron James, Tom Butler
The Plot: Ernest is work as a janitor at a prestigious university and while Abner (Ernest's friend) trys to prove to everyone that a portion of Englands crown jewels were stolen and hide in a cannon called Goliath. Ernest buys a metal detector and yes you have guessed it ,he finds a cannon and it happens to be the one Abner has been looking for all her life. As normal he finds himself running for his live but this time its from an evil entreperneur. Nothing ever goes right for Ernest, so will it end up a happy ending.
What I thought:Its probable the best Ernest I have seen to date but I would not go out my way to see it again, as I'm not an Ernest fan. If you like Ernest films then you should really like this one. It does have some funny parts in the film...

Advantages: The final episode is great Disadvantages: this is the final series
...The 9th and final series of the classic BBC comedy Dad's Army, is just as enjoyable as the everyother series before it despite a number of the cast showing their age and illness.
This includes, 6 episodes some of the highlights are the Home Guard and the Wardens dress up as St. George and the Dragon and fight each other! A bomb gets stuck on top of important military phone lines which they are meant to be protecting and of course the final episode of Dad's Army which see Lance Corporal Jones Marry his wartime sweetheart Mrs. Fox and ends with a fitting tribute to those who were in the home guard. The final two are my favourite, although this isn't the best series in the collection. On the Region 2 DVD it has the short extra " We Are the boys" here they look at the Role Ian Lavender had in the show as Pike. Which is intersting part...

Advantages: Well adapted from the novel, the film over-all holds up well. Disadvantages: Some of the acting styles and conventions are dated.
...refusal to box means he is given the worst details and is subject to cruel treatment from many of the enlisted men. The Army however is Pruitt's home and he loves it. Pruitt eventually falls for a club hostess played by Donna Reed (she won a Supporting Actress Oscar). Frank Sinatra plays Pruitt's best friend in the platoon and has several border-line comic run ins with Ernest Borgnine. Burt Lancaster delivers an almost understated performance as Sergeant Warden. He almost runs Captain Holmes' platoon. He is also involved in a passionate and very dangerous affair with Captain Holmes' wife, Karen who is well played by Deborah Kerr. This remains the most interesting story and one can imagine how controversial and shockingly adult it played to audiences in 1953, because it still holds up even today.
You won't confuse From Here...
