ERNEST GOES TO AFRICA finds congenital fool Ernest P. Worrell accidentally stealing two fabulous African diamonds and gluing them to a yo-yo as a present for a local waitress he has taken a liking to. Soon, an evil African prince has both of them kidnapped and brought to Africa, where a wild escape ensues.

Advantages: An other Ernest film? Disadvantages: Chase goes on a bit

The Plot: Ernest is work as a janitor at a prestigious university and while Abner (Ernest's friend) trys to prove to everyone that a portion of Englands crown jewels were stolen and hide in a cannon called Goliath. Ernest buys a metal detector and yes you have guessed it ,he finds a cannon and it happens to be the one Abner has been looking for all her life. As normal he finds himself running for his live but this time its from an evil entreperneur. Nothing ever goes right for Ernest, so will it end up a happy ending.
What I thought:Its probable the best Ernest I have seen to date but I would not go out my way to see it again, as I'm not an Ernest fan. If you like Ernest films then you should really like this one. It does have some funny parts in the film...

Advantages: Well packaged / presented. Very funny performances. Disadvantages: Not brilliant picture quality due to age condition of original tapes.
...in the air for Nellie as she is reacquainted with an old flame Ernest, who has been away as a missionary in Africa for years. Meanwhile in another room in the house, the lecherous Eli has brought a young "dolly bird" back home for a drink. The prudish Nellie soon discovers what is happening and gets rid of "Backyard Bertha".
Ernest soon makes clear he is still interested in marrying Nellie and taking her back to Africa with him. This delights Eli who has visions of having the house to himself etcetera! Preparations are then planned for the impending wedding that nobody thought would happen, including the completely unimpressed Walter being drafted in to give Nellie away at her wedding. Eli and some of the picklers from the factory take Ernest to the local pub, The Spreadeagle, for a bachelor drink. Ernest, normally an abstainer, not used...
