Advantages: Bale *drools*, Gun-kata Disadvantages: No huge explosions or time travelling
Personal Background:
After hearing great things about the fight scenes in this movie I finally decided to actually you know, buy the damn thing rather than get told it was like a better version of the Matrix (which if truth be told, I loathed almost as much as I hate having water in my shoes whilst walking around the permanantley wet town of Paisley). The Story:
The movie is set in a post WWIII era where to stop any more mass destruction ...

Advantages: Super story line, good action sequences. Disadvantages: Maybe too much like the matrix.

...** Synopsis **
Written and directed by Kurt Wimmer (Sphere), Equilibrium is a story set in the future. John Preston (Christian Bale) is a cleric in Libria. Now what is Libria and what is a cleric? Libria (a country / city; I am not sure), led by the 'Father', has a new method to control people, to create a utopia - by suppressing people's emotions. In order to stop war, hatred, jealousy, murder etc, emotions are altogether suppressed - at the sacrifice of happiness and love. Librians need to take a dose of Prozium at fixed intervals to suppress their human nature. And what are clerics? They are high ranking 'policemen' who seek out the sense offenders (people who don't take their doses of Prozium and decide to rebel against the Father's Will) and properties which might evoke emotions (i.e. paintings, music, literature...
