Equlibrium (Movie only)
Review of Equilibrium DVD by iamasadlittleboy

Advantages: Bale *drools*, Gun-kata
Disadvantages: No huge explosions or time travelling

Personal Background: After hearing great things about the fight scenes in this movie I finally decided to actually you know, buy the damn thing rather than get told it was like a better version of the Matrix (which if truth be told, I loathed almost as much as I hate having water in my shoes whilst walking around the permanantley wet town of Paisley). Finally seeing this for 99p (bargain or what?) I thought right, I'll shut Andrew up and tell him ...
...gash that at the time that West Ham United had been playing (both being huge football fans, that would have managed to make sense). However seeing the always sexy brooding and scarily handsome Christian Bale on the cover not only made me think "Hey this could well be one of those amazing films" but also made me question my sexuality...but lets stay away from that. The Story: The movie is set in a post WWIII era where to stop any more mass destruction ... Read review

Ever heard of sense offenders
Review of Equilibrium DVD by  JamesBrock

Advantages: Super story line, good action sequences.
Disadvantages: Maybe too much like the matrix.

...I watched this film a while back and i have to say i absolutly enjoyed it. I really cannot understand how the movie critics can say it was "a seriously bad film" or "totally naïve". This film mimics the styles that The Matrix so gracefully brought to our screens. Equilibrium is meant to be set in the not to distant future after the happenings of World War 111. In response to this war the government have devised a law to prevent such a catastrophe from ever reaccuring again. In short the government has outlawed the human quality most likely to give rise to future conflicts.....emotion. To stop emotion from ever arising in any human again the government lead by the higher power only know as "Father" have placed the entire population on a rigerous regieme of injecting them selves with a drug know as "Prozium". The government... Read review

My emotions on this film is certainly unsuppressed
Review of Equilibrium DVD by  immortal_pheebs

Advantages: some good action sequences, Christian Bale
Disadvantages: too much like matrix, unoriginal plotline, unconvincing ending

...** Synopsis ** Written and directed by Kurt Wimmer (Sphere), Equilibrium is a story set in the future. John Preston (Christian Bale) is a cleric in Libria. Now what is Libria and what is a cleric? Libria (a country / city; I am not sure), led by the 'Father', has a new method to control people, to create a utopia - by suppressing people's emotions. In order to stop war, hatred, jealousy, murder etc, emotions are altogether suppressed - at the sacrifice of happiness and love. Librians need to take a dose of Prozium at fixed intervals to suppress their human nature. And what are clerics? They are high ranking 'policemen' who seek out the sense offenders (people who don't take their doses of Prozium and decide to rebel against the Father's Will) and properties which might evoke emotions (i.e. paintings, music, literature...
