During the 1990s, if you had a gamesconsole you would have probably been in one of two camps: Sega or Nintendo. I certainly was rooted firmly in the Sega camp having had a Mega Drive for many, many years with games like Street of Rage, Ecco the Dolphin and of course, Sonic the Hedgehog. I was a huge Sonic fan, playing the first and second game until completion and then starting up again a few days later as I loved everything about it, the colours, the gameplay.... everything.
So if you tried to convince me that some 10-15 years later that Sonic and Mario would team up in a game, I probably would have just laughed. Back then it would have been an absurd thought but one that any magazine reviewer or computer game fanboy would have only dreamed about.
Well January 2008 saw this realisation with the release of Sonic & Mario ...

Mario and sonic at the olympicgames is a Game Pubished By Sega and Nintendo for the Beijing2008olympics.
The game Contains all the Sega Charters such as Sonic, Tails etc and all the Nintendo Charters such as Mario, wario etc
The Game uses the Ninendo Wi-Fi But this is just only for Results and game Data. It a shame that this game can't be played Wifi as it will be a great game to play with others around the world.
The Game Enables you to use your Mii to Play with the Charters but you will need to unlock this feature by completing serval games.
The game can support up to 4 Plays and Most games just use the wii remote on it own but you will need to use the Nunchuk for the racing games.
There are unlockable games which bring Sonic and mario Together such as Get the rings.(you may remeber that sonic in early years ...

Mario & Sonic at the olympicgames was the first game i bought after getting a Wii for christmas.
I personally think that it is an excellent first game to get for the Wii. You can happily play for hours and hours becuase of the wide variety of events you can play. These events include;
