From Jason Friedberg and Aaron Setzer (DATE MOVIE, SCARY MOVIE) comes this everything-in-the-kitchen-sink, blender-set-to-grind comedy, which pokes fun at big crowd-pleasers like...
more...WILLIE WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, CHRONICLES OF NARNIA, SNAKES ON A PLANE, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, X-MEN, NACHO LIBRE, and THE DA VINCI CODE, among others. The loose plot involves a gang of teen orphans whose trip inside Wonka’s candy factory leads them to a Narnia-style wardrobe adventure. Jennifer Coolidge is the evil White Bitch they have to tangle with in this new land, and Fred Willard plays Aslo, the lion. Scene-stealing Crispin Glover plays the Wonka-be, David Carradine breakdances, and the vivacious Carmen Elektra morphs enticingly in her X-MEN-style blue body paint. A bevy of eerie look-alikes pose as Paris Hilton, Anna Paquin, Samuel Jackson, and P Diddy, among others. Of course there’s raunch a-plenty to keep the MTV generation of all ages amused. The jokes come so fast that no one need worry if a gag here falls flat: another one is right behind to jump on its back.

Epic Movie, well not really that Epic I can tell you.

THE FILM

The film starts by us meeting 4 orphans, Edward, Peter, Lucy and Susan who all win golden tickets to go to a chocolate factory. When they arrive at this factory they soon discover they are there as the mad owner wants to use their body parts in his chocolate bars. The children run to hide from the crazy man and soon discover a magical wardrobe.

As they go through the wardrobe they enter a magical land, Gnarnia. Here they soon discover that they have been sent to save Gnarnia from the White Bitch who plans to take over the land.

Edward is enticed by the White Bitch, I think her large boobs had some influence over his decision to betray his friends! He goes behind his friends back and helps the White Bitch with her plan.

The children soon learn they have to fight the White Bitch and her army in order to save the land of Gnarnia.

Will the orphans succeed in saving Gnarnia?

I know the plot outline is fairly brief but this is just how bad and weak the film really is!

MY OPINION

I was expecting quite a lot from this film as it was written by 2 of the writers of Scary Movie which I did quite enjoy. From the start the story was weak and I found I was getting quite bored. The whole story is based on other films and throughout there are scenes which are spoofs from other more serious films.

The characters were OK in their roles, they can only work with the script they have been given, they all seemed to work well on screen together.

The film did have a few funny moments in, the randy lion was quite funny especially towards the end and I did laugh at his dying scene. I also enjoyed the Superman reference scene when the bullet is aimed at Superman's eye but nothing else from the film really stands out for me.

My hubby did not enjoy this film at all and he too agrees that it could have been made a lot better with a much stronger plot.

The Beaver was quite comical and added a fun element to the film, I would personally say he was my favourite character even though he only appeared for a few minutes.

EXTRAS

The DVD has a lot of extras included which are:-
Writer / Directors Commentary
Alternative Audio Stream "Breaking Wind an Epic Journey into the Sounds of an Epic Movie" Commentary
How Gratuitous - Wardrobe Girl, Crib Girl, Pirate Girl and Jogging Girls
Everyone Loves Beaver - Epic Hook ups
Making the Video, Lazy Pirates Day
Outtakes
Alternative Ending
Five Featurettes
Easter Egg: Kevin Hart, The Angriest Black Albino: The Interview.

To be very honest I did not bother watching any of these as the film was a total let down.

INFO

The film was Produced by Paul Schiff and Directed and Written by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer.

The run time of the film is 89 minutes, I can certainly think of other things to do with this time!

The film has been given a 15 certificate which I feel is very appropriate.

I picked up my copy for £4 in Asda and I am so glad that I did not pay more for it as it really is not that good.

Find a better way of spending the 89 minutes of your life!
