...This DVD Box set of Samurai X (Original Japanese Title : Rurouni Kenshin, Rurouni, meaning Master-less Samurai or wondering Samurai and Kenshin being the name of the main character.) This box set contains 4 DVD's; Trust Betrayal The Motion Picture Reflections All in all they run for about 5 hours. -------------------------------------------------------------------- The DVD's in this set tell the story of Hitokiri Battousai, a man famed (of so the story goes) for being the most powerful and deadly manslayer of the Meji Restoration in Japan, effectively an assasin. Samurai X is also linked to three series of Anime which are also available (the cost is about $100, it doesn't seem to be available in the UK yet). Advantages: Everthing from acting, directing, and storyline
Disadvantages: They are making a forth, so much for the trilogy

...the special features the DVD box set included, because it allows us to get a prospective as to how the film was made, how Lucas and Spielberg came up with the storylines, and the directions they wanted to take for each film. We get to here from both individuals about what they favored about the story, how they disagreed at times about the direction etc. Some of the stunts in the film were actually good, given the year it was made in, however even the littlest of scene’s required a great deal of hard work, the extra footage shows just how it was made. Also packed with music and visual sound effects, it gives us fans an in depth analysis of the production of each film from start to finish. Advantages: An aesthetically pleasing collection
Disadvantages: Some rather poor inclusions

...A selection of classic Hammer films from the very good to...not so good. An aesthetically pleasing set for fans of the studio, or those wanting at least half of the titles. Features star favourites Peter Cushing, Raquel Welch, Ursula Andress and Christopher Lee (about whom there is an interesting documentary with 'Scars of Dracula'). The extra features vary greatly, the biggest ommission, in my opinion, is the total absence of subtitles for the hearing impaired. For those who are interested all films are anamorphic, some for the first time, and completely uncut. My personal favourite was the inclusion of the 1965 film 'The Nanny' which stars a very chilling Bette Davis in a well scripted, and often overlooked role.
