...that will make dog poo disappear. In fact, he is so confident of his plan to launch Va-Poo-Rize that he gets an old scientist to develop a formula and asks Tim to become a partner by investing $2 000.
Tim declines, assuming it is another one of Nick's scatterbrained schemes that will never get off the ground
.
He is proven wrong when Nick's spray is a hit with dog lovers and he is soon rolling in dough.
Filthy rich beyond belief, Nick enjoys living the high life in his huge mansion, which replaced his previous small abode, and he gets a flashy sports car with a number plate that reads CACA KING.
Jealous of Nick's fortune and his stupidity over not going 50/50 with him, Tim's life is thrown into disarray and he eventually loses his job; befriends J-Man (played by Christopher Walken), who fuels his envy and adds more chaos to his stressed life...

Advantages: None at all. Disadvantages: Unlikable characters, wandering plot, utter nonense.
...Jack Black is a funny guy. Ben Stiller is a funny guy with the right material. Barry Levinson has written and directed some very funny films. So how on earth did this ever turn out to be one of the worst excuses for a comedy that I have ever had the misfortune to sit through?
It's not surprised to learn that Envy sat on the shelf collecting dust for two years before it was actually released. The simple answer is that it's just not funny. If Jack Black hadn't suddenly become huge with School Of Rock, I'd expect it to still be sitting on that shelf, or if it was very, very lucky, going straight to video.
Envy centres on two best friends in menial jobs, Tim (Stiller) and Nick (Black). Nick constantly comes up with insane inventions. When he comes up with 'Vapoorize' (yes, with two o's) that eliminates doggie waste, and offers Tim...

Advantages: Christopher Walken, Rachel Weisz Disadvantages: A script with wider holes in it than the Thames
...invention things start to fall apart for Tim when he decides not to invest 2 thousand dollars in Nick's idea. As he lets envy get the better of him his wife leaves him and he gets fired, while Nick carries on getting richer and richer. His only help comes in the form of an aging Hippy (Christopher Walken) who seems to think he can answer all of Tim's problems, but are they really the answers he's looking for.
There was part of me that from the start wanted to love this film. The cast was really quite impressive and promised so much but the story was the biggest let down of the lot. No matter how much I tried to like it I just couldn't see the point in the script and more importantly there was no obvious reason why it was classed as a comedy.
The direction is quite simple and seemingly just lets the film flow. Whether this is down to Levinson...

DVD Description
Sensible, hardworking Tim is climbing the managerial ladder, while daydreamer Nick can't seem to stay focused on the tasks at hand. But all of that changes when one of Nick's seemingly hairbrained ideas--a spray that makes dog poop disappear--takes off, making him filthy rich. Rather than leaving the neighborhood and his best friend, Nick turns his home into a mansion and his property into a veritable amusement park. Tim, meanwhile, laments his decision not to invest in Nick's invention early in the game, and his life begins to fall apart as envy takes over. This dark comedy directed by Barry Levinson (AVALON, TIN MEN) also stars Amy Pohler and Rachel Weisz. But it's Christopher Walken who is the real scene-stealer as a bizarre hippie-bum who befriends Tim when he's down and out, only adding to the mayhem.
Advantages: two whole hours of Bon Jovi at there best Disadvantages: couldn't find any
...Having seen Bon Jovi three times in concert it is never quite the same watching the shows on dvd. However The Crush Tour dvd manages to capture the atmosphere as you watch the huge crowd excitedly waiting for their heroes to take the stage. I then sang along to old favorites as well as many new songs from the Crush album. Jon and the boys are at their rocking best, enjoying themselves which shows in the dazzaling performance. One lucky lady gets to dance with Jon to the envy of myself and most of the ladies(and some of the men) in the audience no doubt.
After the fantastic concert i still had 30 mins of backstage antics to enjoy. plus the two great videos for Its My Life and Say It Isn't So.
I highly recommend this dvd for any Bon Jovi fan....

...A purely breathtaking film, which is unbelievable to think it was created by pure imagination. A film for all the family, for kids and adults, to grasp everyone and keep them focused on the film from beginning to end, until that final scene. A stark contrast to Matthew Vaughn former film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, encased in this film is a true gem which entails everything from, heroes to villains, magic to sourcery, romance to envy, the film envisages all of these, a star studded cast have pulled this off effectively through the combination of old heads like De Niro to the younger generation of Charlie Cox. Based on a fairy tale novel, Tristan the hero of the story seeks out a fallen star for a girl he loves, but upon his discovery a love story un-ravels and a story of betrayals and a fight for the kingdom ensues. Truly...
