Entrapment really shows how well Sean Connery can perform against a backdrop of bad acting, except Rhames, whose part was too small anyway. Catherine Zeta-Jones was absolutely horrific in this film. Her character was whiny and very annoying. Throughout the film you could see the anger and hatred that Connery felt about Zeta-Jones' acting. The script was mediocre, but the directing was above average. Look for numerous allusions to Connery's previous films, such as the red phone booth from the Avengers. This movie could have worked with a decent female lead and better supporting players. Also, the attraction and love between Jones and Connery was laughable, but I blame that on the writer of the script and Jones. Even though Entrapment wasn't as brilliant as I had hoped, I am still interested in seeing more films by Connery. Bottom line: Skip it.
