Advantages: Good tense action Disadvantages: Chemistry between Connery and Jones
Entrapment is the 1999 film that centres on trickery from all angles and has you guessing from the start to the finish. It stars Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta Jones. Jones was on form at the time, ahving had many starring roles. She was just breaking into Hollywood and had forged a partnership with Michael Douglas. She could seemingly do no wrong. Connery was nearing the end of his acting career, but coming off great performances in other films, ... ...Jon Amiel looked to be able to give some fresh injection into an unlikely pairing of stars, and the scope was good for this film. So, did I like it? Unfortunately not!
The plot is quite a clever one. Jones plays Virginia Baker, who is sent by an insurance firm to help capture art thief Robert MacDougal, played by Sean Connery. She first of all needs to gain his trust, and then persuade him to let her into all of his secrets, and even steal some ...

Advantages: Apples'n'not many Disadvantages: Z-J and the Syrup
...the end of time, and Entrapment is no different. In fact, she’s basically the only femme on show here AT ALL, as far as I can remember (which is about three feet six these days).
ENTRAPMENT IS CRAP….
Now, I could halt this review here and save both you and me a lot of wasted time and heartache, but you know the dave27 pride won’t let me do that, so get ready for the latest instalment from the pen that the world wishes it could forget…
ENTRAPMENT ... ...substantiation so here goes…
Entrapment features Sean Connery and Catherine Z-J as two art thieves (ho hum, getting bored already) in a kind of it takes a thief piece. Connery is Robert (Mac) Macdougal (don’t you hate the use of brackets or inverted commas around a nickname, and the gratuitous use of brackets to explain what’s going on?), who has earned his fulsome rep as the world’s greatest exponent of the dark arts. Z-J is Virginia (Gin) Baker ...

Advantages: good film Disadvantages: bit confusing
ENTRAPMENT 1999
This film was released back in 99 and often shows on movie channels but on bank holiday Easter Monday this was on BBC1 so I decided to check it out, my dad having already seen it warned me it was quite complicated and 'TwIsTeD' but I still watched it. Entrapment stars 'Catherine Zeta-Jones' and 'Sean Connery' as the main roles. The film has an interesting twist which is probably what makes it a little confusing to watch and understand ... ...it is.
Catherine Zeta Jones plays 'Virginia' a business woman who you can clearly see enjoys her role of work, maybe because she works by day and night, maybe because she is just good at it. Virginia works for one of the biggest insurance agents in America and she is tracking down one of the most successful art thieves of all time.
Sean Connery plays 'Mac' this art thief and he is v.v.good at his profession. Virginia has been tracking him now for ...

Advantages: Intriguing plot. Disadvantages: Could not watch twice as you would know the end.
This is an excellent film depicting the relationship between two international thieves who have combined their talents to make the biggest theft of all time. Sean Connery and Katherine Zeta-Jones play the roles of the two thieves – Mac and Gin. This is the type of film that you will probably only watch once. This is not because it is a bad film, quite the opposite it is a great film. However, the plot of the film is made up of many twists, ... ...would not have the same appeal. So I am not going to mention anything more of the plot at all for fear of ruining the film for you. The story moves around the world and there are some terrific camera shots of the different locations. There are a few very well done stunts and special effects but overall it is the story that is the strength of the film. The direction of the film is excellent and keeps you interested for every minute. If you enjoy intrigue ...

Advantages: good acting and great views in film Disadvantages: maybe a little bit of a confusing plot
I really quite liked this film as its got two great actors in the film even though what everyone saying about the film it might be confusing yes but certain people do enjoy films which have them sort of plots into the film.
I really enjoy these actors Catherine Zeta Jones and Sean Connery which both work together Catherine Zeta Jones does work as a international intrigue and Sean Connery works as the insurance investigator.
The stage in the film ... ...planned everything for the heist so that everything wants to go according to plan film with lots of things you would not expect to happen in a film.
I think this film is exciting and action packed as well as your not sure what’s going to happen around the corner!
I think the area that the film is set in which I’m not sure where abouts exactly the film is set in but it does suit the style of the film and the age of it what they are trying to prove ...

Advantages: Good storyline, plenty of twists Disadvantages: Ham acting
...The DVD is quite hard to find in the special edition version so it might be worth something in years to come. However, I'm not sure if it's the lines that she was given, or the way she performed them (a little of both, most likely), but Catherine Zeta-Jones is embarrassing as the sugar-coated Gin Baker, who seems to be doing nothing more than a bad Audrey Hepburn impression. Sean Connery doesn't fair much better with his "lonely crook with a heart of gold" character. The two of them together are laughable as "romantic" leads. Their chemistry is abysmal, and Sean Connery comes off more as an abusive father, rather than a sensual lover.
Although most of the movie consists of this idiotic affair to forget, there are a few fairly entertaining action sequences. Sadly, they're spread thinly out over the two hours, and we're forced to watch...

Advantages: Great storyline which major twists throughout the movie Disadvantages: Strange love intrest
...When I first saw Entrapment on video, I wasn’t too sure what it was about. All I knew is that it involved intelligent thieves and Catharine Zeta-Jones. When I watched it, I was extremely impressed. With its acting, plot line and even its twists throughout the movie were of a high quality.
The actors chosen to play the roles of Mac and Gin are, again of a high calibre. For the character of 'Mac' McDougal, the Scottish Sean Connery took up the role of a worldwide thief, who is wanted by many people - in particular the company Gin Baker work for. His acting in this movie is, like always fantastic and he really gets involved in the role of character.
Catharine Zeta-Jones plays Gin, which in my view was the best actress to play the insurance firm employee. She performs her role extremely well and when needed to show emotion, she does...
