entrée into Hollywood. The American-Hong Kong
co-production, shot in Asia by American director
Robert Clouse, stars Lee as a British agent sent

Asian crime lord Han (Shih Kien) through his
annual international martial arts tournament. Lee
spends his days taking on tournament combatants
and nights breaking into the heavily guarded
underground fortress, kicking the living tar out
of anyone who stands in his way. The mix of kung

James Bond intrigue (the plot has more than a
passing resemblance toDr. No) is pulpy by any

Enter the Dragon (Schifrin) - Enter the Dragon (Schifrin) -
In light of the 1990s' new-found appreciation of Schifrin'sMission: ImpossibleandBullitt, ... more
this CD transfer of the original vinyl album is no
surprise. But just shy of 30 minutes, and with
plenty more that could be included, it's a bit
ungenerous. After 20 films that pronounced him
master of his art,Enter the Dragonwas Bruce Lee's
Hollywood break. The tragedy, of course, is that
he died in Hong Kong three weeks before the film's
premiere in 1973. So, perhaps fittingly, the
score's infamous theme was a perfect portrait of
Lee Jun Fan--fast, funky and fun. And who cannot
help smirking with glee at the catchy vocal
"Hyogah!"? Mixing jazzy offbeat percussive rhythms
with oriental instrumentation, guitar and a heroic
brass section, this is genre-defining stuff. Some
25 years later, the score served to revitalise
Schifrin's career by inspiring the music for
Jackie Chan'sRush Hour. Its success meant numerous
re-recordings from the composer on his own label.
If only this were one of them. --Paul Tonks

ENTER THE DRAGON
Review of Enter The Dragon (Special Edition) by GODROX

Advantages: THE ORIGINAL AND THE BEST OF ALL LEE MOVIES
Disadvantages: WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER ON 1 DISC ONLY.

...movies this one is timeless. Enter the Dragon was the one that put Lee on the map and sent him to superstar cult status. A classic this one has everything and has set the standard for many a martial art epic for many years since. The fight scenes are still fresh and awesome with Lee showing his genuine martial art ability and unmatched speed and agility. Despite knowing the storyline and format I quickly found myself willing Lee on towards the ...
...kung-fu boom of the era. Enter the Dragon special edition is the one to own to sum up Bruce Lee's dynamic and stand alone career. Whether a martial art fan or not this special edition does justice to the Lee legend and will have you making cat like noises as you search for the remote to see the Master chop and kick his way through the bad guys once again. It is a must have for every movie fan. ... Read review

Enter The Dragon (review)
Review of Enter The Dragon (Special Edition) by T-BuLL16

Advantages: great storyline and actors, the fighting scenes are EXELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Disadvantages: It was a bit slow to start.

...in my all time favourite Enter The Dragon. I love this film and the reason being is because the storyline is great and the fighting scenes are excellent, well . . . I suppose you would expect that from the man proven to be the worlds fittest man, highly trained in martial arts. If you are into martial arts then this is definitely the film for you I personally recommend the special edition specifically because it has hidden scenes in it that you ...

Bruce Lee infiltrates Han's opium smuggling ring.
Review of Enter The Dragon (Special Edition) by  filmfreak2005

Advantages: Superb fight sequences, Bruce Lee at his best....
Disadvantages: No oscar winning performances here. Just pure action.

...). Han, impressed with Roper, also reveals his operation to him, and asks him to join Han in his activities. The finale is a mass battle between Han's men versus Roper and Lee. Providing aid, Mei Ling releases prisoners kept in the underground network. While the prisoners keep Han's men busy, Lee chases Han to his museum. Entering a 'maze of mirrors', this is where Han and Lee fight to the death. The acting in this film would never win an Oscar, and the dialogue is a little cheesy at times. Lee also seems to struggle with his English at times. However, the action sequences are expertly choreographed by Bruce Lee, and you will be hard pushed to find a film which exceeds the quality of martial arts skill. With plenty of fighting and a tense atmosphere, this legendary martial arts fest certainly packs a punch. This is the Special Edition... Read review

Immortal (***** stars out of five)
Review of Enter The Dragon (Special Edition) by  supereddman98

Advantages: Amazing fighting
Disadvantages: Not the best acting, but who needs it.

...Enter the Dragon (1973) was Bruce Lee's first (and only) solo big Hollywood production. Too bad he never got to see the fruits of his labor. He passed away during the film's post production (don't fret, two more official Bruce Lee films were made after this one. Despite all of the years of hard work and finally making it to the big times, he wasn't around long enough to enjoy it. Even though Robert Clouse is credited as director and another person is credited for writing the screenplay. This film has Bruce Lee's fingerprints all over it. The movie is about a shady underworld crime lord (aren't they always) who controls most of the world's opium drug ring and a lot of other illegal dealings. British Intelligence is stumped, so they seek out someone who's slick, sly, stealth and who can kick a lot of butt and take care of himself... Read review
