...Inspired by the modern classic Wings of Desire, City of Angels stars Nicolas Cage (Leaving Las Vegas, Gone in Sixty Seconds ), as Seth, an angel watching over Los Angeles who begins to find his job difficult when he falls in love with Maggie Rice, played by Meg Ryan (Sleepless in Seattle, Proof of Life), a beautiful heart surgeon. Unfortunately, this is a forbidden love as Angels are not supposed to make themselves known to humans. But Seth breaks these rules to be with Maggie. But things go too far and Seth has to make the biggest decision of his life, to be with Maggie and an earthbound human, or stay as a beautiful immortal Angel and give up Maggie. ...Here's good weird news for all you skeptics who never thought you'd live to see Die Hard set on a bus. Keanu Reeves is a Los Angeles SWAT cop against whom a flamboyant local terrorist (Dennis Hopper) has a personal grudge. Sandra Bullock, cute as a bug in the role that made her a star, rides and eventually drives the bus in danger of being blown up. The bus, and the film, roars along like a missile and come to a dizzy crescendo on L.A.'s unfinished Metro Rail. This movie is the making of these two stars with a cleverly concocted script which has a rather poor anticlimax of a finish. Still a greatly enjoyable movie!... Read review

...that over here in england, Buffy and Angel aired together on the same night, and some episodes do overlap, so when your watching the dvd you dont get a good sense of what has happened over on the other show in the previous episode, unless you have Season Four of Buffy and are watching alternatively. Positives: If you are a fan of Buffy, you will most probaly like Angel, they are obviously similar shows because of having the same writing and directing staff, but Angel is darker than Buffy with its storylines which are maybe more adult than the first season of Buffy. Angel has also moved to Los Angeles which adds to the darkness of the show. Although the show is a "darker version of Buffy" it hasnt lost the comedic feel of the original show and can be very funny (often because of Cordeilia), One of my favourite things about Angel is the character...
