End Game (DVD)

Advantages: Good story line
Disadvantages: Burt Reynolds

...like Robert Redford. At the end of the day this was a very enjoyable film and one that I could easily watch again to see if there were any clues during the film now I know the ending. The certificate 12 is fine for this film as I can't recall hearing any bad language but there is a certain amount of violence with guns etc but nothing major that will scare or gross you out. ...to end it with a clink of two wine glasses. And Burt Reynold's? Is there a scarier face in Hollywood? Does this monster still tell people that he has never had plastic surgery? He could make more suing his surgeons than he ever could in movies. ... Read review

Advantages: All the goals, all the memories,
Disadvantages: Can't see the why teams get penalties, no sendings off

...to see every goal and the player of the name comes onto the screen and the minute in which they scored. Its funny to see old house-hold names like Marcelas Sala's etc. who seem to have vanished off the face of the earth! One annoying factor is that with moments like Penalties, you don't get to see how the move led to the penalty...so you can't see how during the famous game between England V Argentina, how each penalty was given. Also, you don't see penalty shoot outs and when games end in draws, the DVD just carrys on to the next game. Also, no sending's off are included so you don't get to see the "incident" between Diego Simeone and David Beckham, but this is "All the GOALS of World Cup 98", and not all the action ;-P. Advantages: Quite good atmosphere, official game
Disadvantages: A bit slow, occasionally crashes

...numbers near 1, which doesn't really help. Also, you are not shown on the screen which numbers you have chosen, you just notice them as you flick through. When you do select a box though, you then get a video of a past contestant (often recognisable, ie Morris the rhyming contestant, or Nick the founder member of the 1p club) who says a few words of luck and opens his box. The DVD generates a random selection for the amount in the box (fitting with the amounts in the game of course, not £12,456.45 or something) which Noel says and you will see some reaction from Noel or the audience or the player who opened the box. Then Noel will comment gleefully as always, and you will then see the game board. This game board is realistic to the show and is quite nicely presented on screen. You then continue until you reach the end of your round... Read review

Advantages: Uses official names and places, Quite exciting in places, Doesnt become useless once played once
Disadvantages: Not suited to DVD, A lot of older DVD players not up to it

...choose a location and go there to complete a task which is basically a kind of mini-game. These range from decoding words and pass codes to dodging security cameras and pursuing cars. This is where it gets tricky. For a start our couple of years old dvd player couldnt handle it and was very slow making the game unenjoyable before it eventually crashed. So the next night we started again on a high spec PC and the game was still taking a second to take out an action which made the dodging ones relatively hard. Also the game doesnt come with any detailed instructions on how to complete the mini-games and it took while to figure out that you went the disk reloaded and showed some predetirmened options, i suppose it is only a dvd game. At the end of each day you are given part of a code so the game doesnt become useless once you have completed... Read review
