I absolutley adore this film, the cast which include a young Liv Tyler and Renee Zelleweger amongst others is phenomenal. The soundtrack is trully original and a major strength, including live music from Coyote Shivers as well as songs from The Cranberries and Toad the Wet Sproket etc. The film takes place over the space of one day in this group of friends lives as they work at an exceptionally cool record shop. The record shop is under threat of becoming a 'music town', a chain where they would have to alter a lot of what makes them who they are. Character development is heavily emphasised, serving to give the film an inspiring look at human relationships. Issues such as first love, parental expectations and suicide are dealt with in a touching way without making the film angst ridden. Is it the best film ever? probably not, but for me it trully is up there with the best. Check it out
