Controversial Detroit rapper Eminem has rhymed about a wide range of offensive topics--from being stalked by a fan to killing his wife. Still, his (somehow) charismatic...
more...personality, witty lyrics, and infectious beats have made him a supremely popular hip hop star. E features several of the director's cut music videos for his hit songs, including "The Way I Am," "The Real Slim Shady," and "My Name Is." In addition, the long form video of "Stan," Eminem's creepy dramatization of an obsessive fan gone of the deep end, is also included.

Because I am an Eminem fan it was obvious that I had to get this 'E' DVD when it came out, despite taping each one as it was released off MTV and having the slim shady LP special edition which contains some of the vids also.

As we all know Eminem a.k.a Slim Shady a.k.a Marshall mathers is the controversial white (can you hear that enough) rapper. This is the DVD of all 7 of his videos, some of which never relesed in the UK. There is also some special features thrown in.

DVD CONTENT:

Okay so I am gonna tell you all about the features of this DVD:

The actual videos themselfs (main feature)

1.Stan
2.The way i am
3.The real Slim Shady
4.Role model
5.Guilty Concience
6.My name is
7.Just dont give a f**k

You have the choice of picking a particular video and playing, or running the whole thing through (watching all the videos).
STAN:
The first video 'Stan' caused plenty of conroversy when it was relesed. With the actual song being story-like itself, you can visualize the video in your mind even before you watch it, and the video doesn't dissapoint. It has a great intro with stan being played by Devon Sawa and his girlfriend by Dido. When this came out in the UK it was waterd down a lot befor 11pm and that version was also edited slightly, well here you get the video in full.
THE WAY I AM:
This is one of my fave Em vids because you see a lot of him (looking fine) and this is a very personal song. I like the way he jumps off the buildind and still raps as he falls. Excellent vid.
THE REAL SLIM SHADY:
One of Em's most popular vids, he plays a mental patient and of course works in a burger bar 'spittin on ya onion rings'
ROLE MODEL:
A lesser known vid which wasnt released in the UK. The beginnig is funny when em is houdini and sais 'im going to attempt to drown myself, you can be just like me'. A very sarcastic song.
GUILTY CONCIENCE:
The second vid to be relesed in the UK features Dr.Dre with Em taking the role of the bad guy and Dre the good. One of the best vids with a good song to match.
MY NAME IS:
This is the vid that shot Em to fame, MTV claim it is one of their most requested videos ever, this caused controversy when his mom sewed him for portraying her as a drug addict.
JUST DONT GIVE A FUCK:
The final vid on this DVD. This actually was the first Eminem vid ever, he even has brown hair in it.

Special features (extras)

8.Stan: behind the scenes
9.The mathers home

STAN BEHIND THE SCENES:
This is a documentary like 'making of' Stan. Because em isn't in the vid very much he doesnt appear on this feature very much. But there is plenty of Dre and the actors in the vid (Dido & Devon) you even see Em talking to the little boy that plays stans litlle brother, how sweet. Overall good feature.
THE MATHERS HOME:
No this is not a little peek into the life of the Mathers family, it is the 'blair witch' like short film which was played at the beginning of Ems european tour. You will probably only watch this once.

IS THE DVD GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY?

Well this realy depends on where you purchase it, some high street stores sell this for around £17 which is a no-no. I brought this from CD-Wow for £12.99 which is good. If you can get it for this price or cheaper then yes it is good value.

DESIGN & LAYOUT OF THE DVD:
The DVD looks good when you put it on, you hear thunder (from Stan) and the big green 'E' and each menu looks good too.

EXTRA INFO:
running time approx: 58 mins (for the main feature, vids)
easter egg: yes I am that kind that I will tell you this, if you press 312 3 or 4 times at the main menu an exta vid (D12 Sh*t on you) will come up, Bargain.
Sound: Dolby digital and stereo (the sound is rich)

NOW THE PROS & CONS

PROS:
-great vids
-good sound
-good layout
-great for fans
-good if you dont have music channels

CONS:
-A bit short
-not a huge list of extras
-Some of the lyrics have been changed (for censor puporces but this should be completly un edited.)
can be expensive but this can be avoided if you look.
-Someone else has metioned this one, the lighting can be to bright.

There you go, my edited review which in my opinion is a lot better. Hope I have helped you in anyway.
