..., this is a sheer pleasure. We get to watch a young Elvis strut his stuff and woo us with his wonderful songs. The actual story loosely relates to Elvis's own rise as undoubtedly the most famous singer in history. It is also a joy to watch a good old-fashioned film, which doesn't rely on action, violence, special effects, swearing or any other modern traits of filmmakers to keep you entertained. The film also reflects on the initial disapproval of the older generation when Rock n Roll started to make it big. Although there is a love story theme, it really is not the driving force of the plot and we are left to enjoy the musical ride.

...I'm sure most people know this is the story of a lonely little girl who befriends a dog who is really an escaped alien and the mischief they get up to.
My two children aged 4 and 7 absolutely love this film. We went to see it when it first came out at the cinema and they wanted it on DVD straight away. The Elvis soundtrack carries on through the film - great if youloveElvis - hell if you don't. My two now know the words to 'Devil in Disguise' and my 4 year old has taken to laying down after a telling off and saying 'leave me alone to die' (lovely!!)! The colours and graphics are beautiful and the film has enough humour to leave most grown-ups with the will to live for the time it runs (about 85 mins).
The main thread of the story is that family comes first and no one is left behind - being Disney it's a bit sugary but I...
