I'm not normally one for exercise, i never have been, but this year i made a resolution to get fit. Not being into sport much, and not being keen on the gym i decided to go for something i could do at home. The workout is really good, i felt like i was really working, the moves were easy to follow and not too fast, and it made me feel really good about myself afterwards. The workout changes from aerobic exercise to toning and strengthening a few times, so it doesnt get boring, and gives you a chance to catch your breath! The aerobic sections are fun, and make you work up a sweat without getting completely exhausted! In total the workout lasts for about an hour, including the warm-up and stretching at the end. From the beginning, the sequence is:
* Warm up - nice and gentle, eases you into it well * Aerobics 1 - not very hard work, enough to increase the heart rate a little and raise the temperature
* Legs and Butt - great toning exercises, you need a chair or bench for this * Aerobics 2 - i actually find this the hardest one, although they say that the third is the most challenging. This contains quite a lot of squats and star jumps - exhausting!
* Upper body - strengthening and toning for the arms and shoulders. For this you need a chair and a set of handweights. I suggest starting off with small weights, i only use 1lb ones, although they suggest 2-5lbs. I say dont run before you can walk, and 1lb is plenty for me to begin with! * Aerobics 3 - definately the most fun aerobics part, uses moves from lots of different sports like basketball, skipping, swimming, and karate.
* Abs and Back - i was never any good at abs exercises, and it doesnt change, i find this quite hard work. Mind you, i guess that measn it's doing something! * Cool down - a bit short from my point of view. It completely misses out the arms, but covers pretty much everything else. They could do with holding the stretches for a bit longer than they do. A nice relaxing end to the workout.
I certainly feel more healthy, and although i have only been doing it for a couple of weeks so far i can see a difference. I would definately recommend this dvd/video to everyone. I've never used anything like this before, and am certainly not fit, so i would recommend it for people like me. It makes getting fit fun, i love it!

Not sure why you have been given lower ratings than the other three reviews as I found this review more helpful than them. No one else even mentioned that you need a chair/weights etc and I think it's important to mention things like that. You covered more of what the DVD is about and it's actually made me decide I didn't want to buy it, I'm glad I read this or I would have wasted my money. Thanks x

Its the kind of thing I'd buy and then do it once! I did get the Cindy Crawford one bought for me. Maybe its not as good.
