In this sequel to DAREDEVIL, the Marvel series is drawn upon once again to present the mysterious and powerful character of Elektra (Jennifer Garner), a professional assassin with...
more...special skills. Clad in a red suit, she relies on her mental acuity, which allows her to see a short distance into the future. With this talent she can stalk her victims and kill them before they are even aware of her presence. She is cold and introspective to a fault, shunning all human contact in favour of meditating on her powers. Even so, she is haunted by the memories of her youth, when as a small girl she witnessed her mother's brutal murder by a mysterious horned enemy. When a mission leads her to a father and daughter, Mark (Goran Visnjic) and Abby (Kirsten Prout), something deep inside her causes her to abort the assassination. But before she knows it, a team of the highly dangerous ninja experts called the Hand are sent to take out Mark and Abby themselves. The leader of the Hand, Kirigi (Will Yun Lee), has a greater objective in mind for Mark and Abby, and Elektra decides to defend the helpless twosome until she solves the mystery behind why the Hand wants them dead. Highlights of the film centre on Elektra's impressive moves in her red-hot suit, flinging her Sai weapons with menacing accuracy. Plentiful action scenes and special effects certainly add some high-intrigue moments to the plot, but there is also a softer side to ELEKTRA, which is about mothers and daughters. Elektra frequently flashes back to her mother's death and her memories of youth, while in present time she is forming a bond with young Abby, providing for some tender moments.

=== The Plot. ===

After her 'death' in Daredevi, Elektra Natchios (Jennifer Garner), is revived by a blind man called Stick. She spends a while training with them, but is kicked out of the dojo, due to a reason unknown to her.

She becomes a proffesional assassin and kills people for money. And is sent away on business to kill some, at the time unkown, targets. She goes to enter the place she is staying, and sees some shadows moving about. Who she finds is a girl called Amy (Kirsten Prout) who is her new neighbour. After a lecture about breaking into people homes, Elektra meets the girls father, Mark Miller (Goran Visnjic) and is invited by the daughter to go to their house for Christmas dinner.

When the identity of her targets is given to her and she see's that the pictures are of Mark and Amy, she has second thoughts and decides not to kill them. When they are attacked by supernatural assasins, Elektra decides she has to protect the family no matter what, while trying to uncover why someone wants the dead.

My Opinion.

Although I preferred and enjoyed Daredevil alot more, this film was still slightly enjoyable, and not the worse film I've seen for a while. The acting from Garnerr is good enough for her role, because in this film she isn't as smiley as in Daredevil and is basically just a killer, so she has to show no emotion throughout the film, until towards the end.

The girl who plays Amy, steals the show and puts the rest of the adult to shame. She does a excellent potrayel of her character.

The action sequences in this film are pretty good, especially the one fight scene between Elektra and Will Yun Lee as Kirigi amist a room of floating sheets.

The fact that she isn't really a superhero, does spoil the film a little, and that it brings in supernatural things makes it even less realistic and even though Daredevil wasn't extremely realistic, it still felt possible due to the fact there weren't men with snakes coming out of their back or women killing people with kisses.

This isn't the best Marvel film, not by a long shot, but it isn't the worse either and is definetly watchable to say the least.

3 out of 5 stars.
