Eight legged freaks was a dissapointmnent it was a waste of time. Special effects were average for todays standards, but did the job. Story was just to run of the mill, spiders created by toxic waste, they grow various sizes. Then the usual first victim gets it. The hero of the film is so obvious, I know it was probably made for children but I think todays kids want something a little more meaty, like a few twists and turns, maybe a more surprise. The acting was a little wooden too, film was rated 12 or over but the actors seemed to act 12 and under. I know my opinion is a little harsh but it frustrates me when so much more can be done with a film of this kind.
It reminded me of starship troopers which I loved, but E.L.F had chunks of script missing. It saddens me because I know E.L.F could have been a classic.
When I saw the credits come up the end one word came to mind.......shame. I`d say watch the film for a hour and half full of spider sqelching, but thats it.
