Educating Rita DVD

...is mostly based on two characters Rita and Frank both characters are played exceptionally by Julie Walters and Michael Caine as they are on screen most of the time. The DVD is about Rita who is a hairdresser who is bored with her life and the people around her want Rita to be something she doesn't want to be and the only thing Rita looks forward to is Saturday nights down the pub. Rita decides to get an education and enrols at the open university here her tutor is Frank who is in a similar situation as Rita and Frank took up smoking and drinking. Rita struggles with the course to begin with but then she starts to enjoy herself. Rita's husband Denny wants to start a family with Rita but she is not ready and takes the pill secretly. ...I first saw Educating Rita about 3 years ago when it came as a free disc within the Daily Mirror. As it was a free disc I didn't hold out much hope for it but when I placed it into the DVD player my mum exclaimed that she'd seen it before and that it wasn't half bad. She wasn't wrong; I really enjoyed watching it and have since watched it numerous more times. Educating Rita was released in 1983 and stars Michael Caine and Julie Walters. At nearly 25 years old therefore you might be led to believe that it will be a bit drab and not at all appropriate to life today. You would be wrong however to believe this as in my opinion Educating Rita is as appropriate today as it was when it was first released. The story it tells is extremely true to life and is not only told in a touching way but also in a way that pulls the audience along... Read review

...Edaucating Rita is a must see movie it's story is a clever and exiting one. the charatars in Educating Rita are brilliant there profformace's keep you on the edge of your seat through out the whole profformance. I engyoyed this film very much and i think that everyone should get the opertunaty to watch it. the story is about a woman Called Rita who wants to better he self by becoming smarter and become intune with literiture, the movie is based on the book Educating Rita by Willy Russell, ive also read the book and the movie is almost the same line for line the fact it has'nt been changed is brilliant because the book was very succsesful and so is this classic so if you want a movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat and is so emotonal it will bring a tear to your eye watch this exallant movie....
