In the wake of "the Truman show", this film was overlooked at the cinema, dismissed as a cheap copy. This is a great shame. Firstly it's nothing like "the Truman show", if anything the concept is closer to "the real world" or "shipwrecked". It's a comedy, and it is very funny. It's also very touching and thought provoking. Combining romance and laughter with a stark view of the insatiable appetite of the media. Ed is sexy, yes he's so sexy Matthew McConaughey makes him so likable you just want to take him home with you. Woody Harrelson is spot on as his brother keen to get in the limelight himself, and the supporting cast is also excellent. I finished watching it with the feeling that if there was an EDTV I'd probably be tuning in 12 hours a day. Great fun, great film.
