Advantages: Funny, Good Acting.

EdTV is supposed to be a bit like The Truman Show, but I’ve never watched The Truman Show (although it is on my list of ‘too watch’ videos) so I couldn’t really comment on that one, although I should think it follows the same basic plot. ...- - - EdTV is amazingly very addictive, just like the real life shows we have witnessed on our screens over the last couple of years. You really do want to know what is going to happen next, but you also feel for the guy. He’s stuck with people following him, he’s not a violent or angry guy, so he just has to stick with it, but you feel good when he gets his own way in the end and lives happily ever after. Before I start this review I think it’s worth me clearing up the similarities between The Truman Show and Ed TV. The Truman Show is a fantasy in which everyone tries to hide the truth from one man. Edtv is basically a cross between Big Brother and the Truman Show. The humour is cheap and the story is breezy and slick, superbly directed by Ron Howard Edtv is actually quite a gem of a film. ...a cast that defines star-studded Edtv was a sure hit and was popular with filmgoers and critics. For gods sake even Jonathon Ross praised the film – “Breezy, Slick, Funny” he wrote in his film column in the Mirror.
