Ed Miller's Limit Hold 'Em DVD

In terms of the dvd menu it is pretty basic with just the following :- Play Scene Selection Language selection And that is it when I bought this dvd about rwo years ago it cost me £5.99, but I have seen it in many shops such as hmv, virgin and woolworths from £4.00 to £10.00, so I would recommend you do shop around. Advantages: Classic Disney comedy-mystery, with wonderful actors
Disadvantages: some may find it too silly

...a bulldog’s food, flirting with female kitties and lingering over the fish being put out in the window of a local shop. When a man named Iggy comes out of the fish shop, D.C. is curious and follows him; turns out, this guy is a bank robber and when he arrives at his flat we meet his accomplice named Dan, as well as a librarian they have kidnapped named Miss Margaret Miller. They are holding this hostage not for a price; actually they have full intentions on killing her and disposing of the body (like I said, very un-Disney like, wouldn’t you agree). Hope then comes for Miss Miller when D.C. comes in trying to go after the fish that Iggy just bought. While Iggy and Dan are privately chatting on what to exactly do with Miss Miller, she decides to take a chance and remove D.C.’s collar and replacing it with her watch. She is just about... Advantages: Some very good scenes. Ensemble cast work, and Edward Burns, especially.
Disadvantages: Ultimately overdone, hyper-real; some weak dialogue; incessant music; inescapable schmaltz; unwitting propaganda. Matt Damon.

...of Polanski’s “The Pianist”). It eschews any propagandistic tendencies in favor of going directly to the human core of the tale. I felt closer to the those poor German and Russian soldiers portrayed in the more powerful and far less bombastic and self-congratulatory “Stalingrad” than I did to Capt. Miller and company, despite the latter’s indubitable heroism and goodness. The deeply moving and realistic (in more senses than one) “Stalingrad” stayed with me for a couple of days afterwards (and I’ve yet to find the proper words to write it up months after seeing it). Meanwhile, SPR would become just another rental in my memory within an hour of finishing the film—and all those promotional DVD extras, too. Three-and-a-half stars, max, for this mixed bag of sadly misused potential.... Read review
