Review: ...Fitfully amusing....Buscemi is an engaging deadpan foil... (Variety, )
Advantages: Entertaining, sarcastic humour Disadvantages: Drags a bit towards the end
...Shaun is an almost thirty-something with a dead end job in an electronics store. His girlfriend is sick of him spending every evening in the pub with best mate Ed, and when he fails to arrange an anniversary dinner for them, dumps him, exhorting him to sort himself out. He does this by getting tree-trunked in the pub with Ed. Next morning, he and Ed think that they are suffering from the after effects of too much alcohol when they see a girl in a catatonic state in their back garden. But then she attacks them and they realise that something is horribly wrong - their area is over-run by zombies. Devising a plan to save Shaun's mother, as well as Liz and her housemates, by barricading them all in their local pub, Shaun and Ed head out to start their mission of mercy. But of course, nothing goes as smoothly as it should...

Advantages: great humour and the many funny looking zombies Disadvantages: none
...colleagues at his work his life seems on the slide…
Then, Liz dumps him after he breaks yet another promise, sending Shaun into a downward spiral and the decision to drowned his sorrows in the Winchester.
It is then that his life changes, together with the lives of everyone around him, as he realises that people have been turned into flesh eating Zombie and are walking around his local town.
As Shaun and his friend Ed, (played by Nick Frost) decide to try and rescue people they know, including Liz, her friends, David (played by Moran) and Dianne (played by Lucy Davis)… also Shauns mother Barbera, (played by Penelope Wilton) and his stepfather, Phillip.
The trek to the safe house is fraught with danger as the group try to evade the flesh eating Zombies… with many emotions being tested as they go…

Advantages: Hilairious, loads of extras,5.1 surround sound Disadvantages: A little bit pricey and hard to buy
...Shaun of the Dead is one of the most hilarious films I have ever seen. You will be laughing from start to finish.
The Plot
It is about a man called Shaun who is a nobody with a boring life and a dead end job. He spends most of his life in the pub with his best pal Ed. He has family problems and neglects his girlfriend. This all changes when the dead start coming back to life. He then has to rebuild bridges with his girlfriend and mother while killing zombies with a variety of weapons from records to a spade. Little does he know he will be back in the local pub before he thinks. Lots of blood and lots of comedy all rolled up into one!
Acting/Directing
The actors in this are very good. Shaun is played by Simon Pegg who plays the part very well. He has appeared in Dr Who, Mission Impossible III, Black Books and many others...
