East is East has to be one of the worst films I've seen in a long time. I was walking through HMV and they were doing a deal '3 videos for £20' so I thought - 'great!' I for once have enough money to buy some quality flicks but hey! I was wrong.
I looked around, checking along all the shelves, and I came upon 'East is East' I'd heard that it was a great film as it had been well advertised on Channel 4 but the fact is, it was appalling.
It not only made the family's religion look bad, it also made the town of Bradford appear terrible!
What was the point in the story-line as well? Where was it going? Someone might have to tell me as I never watched the ending, it was too awful and too depressing.
O.K. there were several funny parts, I admit, but by the time I watched the film I'd already seen all the funny parts in the adverts! No, seriously, the clips they showed in the adverts were the entire funny content of the film! If you watch the film, you'll literally be able to quote the comedy! It's terrible.
I wouldn't recommend buying it, why not treat yourself to something decent after all?
