It is the story (shown in colour) of how the people of the USA and Britain coped on the homefront, whilst the service personnel of both countries were away fighting against the Axis countries in what must have seemed like the four corners of the globe. The Atlantic, the Pacific, Northern Europe, Southern Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the far East, Australasia, and so forth. The first chapter of the DVD is entitled "making do." Because the programme was created for the American audience, it begins not at the start of the homefront in Britain, but with the homefront in America, which was basically created only when Pearl Harbour was attacked by the Japanese. Advantages: Totally Comprehesive Beatles History......Brilliant Price...
Disadvantages: Only 5 Discs....

...A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..... Remember how those words were scrolling across the screen when you first saw the Star Wars film and you just knew films were never going to be the same again.... Well if you are in the same age group as me ( Stop laughing at the back ) the same thing applied when you first heard the unusual sound of " The Beatles " spitting out their first bits of raw music. In about 1962 I was given for Xmas a Red Dansette Record Player....( Ask your Mum / Dad or Grandparents even ) and with it a couple of black plastic things called singles... ( Ask Mum / Dad again etc ) to try this thing out. Wow, it plays music just by putting a piece of black plastic with a hole in the middle of it ,on a turn table, and boy does it sound good, for the first time ever, I can play what I want, at what...
