Dying Young, 1991
I am a big Julia Roberts fan, but this film somehow escaped me until last week when it was showing on Flim4. The Story:
It is one of her earlier films, but it is also one of her best as far as I am concerned. Julia plays Hilary a young lady looking makes something of herself. ...another chance. We all make mistakes after all!
The Live in New York DVD is Billy's first live DVD release in about 3 years. The tour is the "Too Old to DieYoung" tour of 2005; the show featured in the DVD is the one that was done in New York. After his move to America in recent years and his many failed attempts to break into the world of film, one can only assume that he has decided to return to his roots and do what he does best; a bit of stand up.
To be quite frank, this hour long, interval free show in front of a graffittied wall set, is not one of Connolly's best efforts. Listening to this and comparing it to his earlier, more gritty, Glasgow based comedy (Think Jobby Weecher and The Crucifixtion for famous routines), it's just not that funny. The theory is that since finding massive wealth and moving to New York, he has not only...
