Advantages: Slick, stylish, funny, brilliantly acted and based on truth Disadvantages: You might not like violence or subtitles - comparisons to 'Pulp Fiction'
...Janeiro, and the story is set during the 1970’s and 80’s. Rather than having the slums impacting on Rio, officials created a housing programme further from the City. This ghetto became increasingly violent and dominated by gangs who could quickly collect larger amounts of money through drug trafficking and crime than by becoming involved in legitimate work. By the beginning of the 1980’s the City of God became known as the most dangerous area of Rio de Janeiro.
The knife being sharpened is to be used on a chicken. The chicken is chased through the dirty and dusty streets of the City of God as a young man talks to his friend about his ambition to become a professional photographer. This is until he runs across the chicken, who is being chased by a gang of young men and children. Suddenly, he is caught between the gang and the police...

Advantages: brilliant close-up live concert footage Disadvantages: only an hour and 20 mins long
...this dvd really is a must have.It shows brilliant close-up footage of will young at his sexiest during his 2002 concert. the vocals are amazing, and it includes as yet un-released songs, including the brilliant 'ticket to ride' a great soul sound co-written by will himself.and his version of the classic 'signed, sealed, delivered' song has got to be heard! truly outstanding! as well as the hour long live concert, the dvd also contains 20 minutes bonus backstage footage of will during his sell out tour.in this dvd will shows off his outstanding vocal talents to a tee, and he is so obviously born to perform on stage and appears very relaxed and really knows how to work the crowds.his 'dirty dancing' in a raunchy duet performed with zoe birkett should not be missed!! the video also features many songs off his first album, and will shines...

The plot isn't too complex, because it's more about the characters, themes, ideas and the symbolism of Steinbeck's writing. This film stays very close to the book in my opinion, which is always good, although I still don't think it lives up to the book, as film versions never do. However, if you haven't read the book, you're in for a treat. The twists and turns...
