Advantages: Value for money, the amount of extras, great music Disadvantages: none that I can think of
...This new DVD from David Gilmour, 'The Voice and Guitar of Pink Floyd', as it says on the sticker on the front, is great value for money as it includes "Over 5 hours of footage plus bonus content, including additional tracks, music videos, documentaries and photo gallery."
Disc 1 is the concert that took place at the RoyalAlbertHall in May 2006 and is a full 2 ½ hours long (including an interval). The running order includes songs from David's latest solo album 'On An Island', with the expected Pink Floyd classics.
David's band is made up of Richard Wright from Pink Floyd, Phil Manzanera from Roxy Music, Jon Carin, Guy Pratt, and Steve DiStanislao. Some of the songs included some very special guests, David Crosby, Graham Nash, David Bowie and Robert Wyatt.
The running order is: Speak To Me, Breathe, Time, Breathe...

Advantages: Paul Weller live DVD Disadvantages: Can't be seen full screen on normal TV
...I've followed Paul Weller now since he started with the Jam in 1977, through his days with the Style Council, and now throughout his 'solo' career. I've seen him live 6 times, and for those of you not fortunate enough to have seen him live, a liveDVD like this one is the next best thing.
Paul Weller has inspired the 1990's bands such as Oasis and Blur, and got the title 'The Modfather'. He regularly plays on 'Later with Jools Holland', and in February 2006 he will be collecting a lifetime achievement award at the Brit Awards.
I've had a great interest in Victorian history all of my life, and to see on DVD my musical hero playing at one of the most historic venues in the UK was awe=inspiring - I travelled down to London the next time Paul played the AlbertHall just to see the concert.
Anyway, about this DVD. It captures...

Advantages: Great laughs throughout Disadvantages: ???
...I bought this dvd about 3 months ago on Ebay.
After loving his hit series 'PHOENIX NIGHTS',and watching 'Live at the Bolton AlbertHalls',about two years previously I knew he was a class act, with a unique comedy style of his own.
It wasnt up until just randomly coming across it on Ebay that I was reminded what a great and hilarious talent he is.
I payed only 0.99p for the dvd, which had been used previously, but had come in great condition.
Only yesterday,I saw it in HMV for 6 pounds, which is great value for such a great installment of laughs.
The DVD is called 'Peter Kay,Live at the Bolton AlbertHalls,as part of his 'Mum wants a Bungalow Tour'.
Bolton being his home town,it was bound to be a sell-out
It's filmed as part of his sell out ,180 date tour that spanned 9 months and was seen by 300,000 people.
Many people who are seen...
