I got given this Interactive DVDn just the other day. Being an old school Dungeon & Dragons fan I thought this would be interesting. I was right this interactive game was just like the old D&D Books where you have to choose the correct path or face the consequences.
The 3-D graphics are pretty cool and I put on some 3-D glasses to try and enhance them, but this didn't seem to make any difference. It did however make my eyes ache. So it wasn't long before they came of. The graphics can also be a bit flicky at times, mainly after you have made a decision and its loading up the next screen.
In the game you take control of three different characters Redgar the Warrior, Lidda the Rogue Halfling and Mialee the Elven Wizard and you must guide them through the game by making simple choices like fight or flee.
The object of the game is to try and find an artefact called the Aryx Orthian, the scourge of the worlds. That after years of safe concealment is now on the verge of being discovered by evil forces.
I have now played this game 3 times each time has had a different ending the first adventure I managed to recover the artefact safely and complete the game, the second game I managed to get myself killed by the protector of the artefact and in the third game I recovered the artefact only to be killed by an evil sorceress.
Although I thought this game was quite good it is rather short lived and each adventure only lasted about 30 minutes, whereas one of the old D&D books would have taken me a good few days.
I would love to be able to write more about the actual adventures but they are likely to change depending on what choice you make. The DVD case does however state that there are over 990 different story combinations, more than 20 decision points and 4 different endings
This DVD has a 12 certificate and you can expect a little bit of blood to be spilt and a few harsh words.
As for the price this game is a snatch from Poundland, at the bargain price funnily enough of £1.
