Oh deary me, what an absolutely dreadful offering. This really is, without any shadow of a doubt, the worse fantasy film I have ever had the displeasure to grace with my presence. I cannot state it any more strongly than that, much as I would like to.
It starts as it means to go on - with an incredibly overacting (and badly acting) Jeremy Irons - my word, that man does go all out when he means to irritate. He is shortly followed by Thora Birch (WhatEVER is she doing in a film like this???), Justin Whalin (yes, well, enough said there) and Marlon Wayans (does he ever use a different character? i think not)
The plot is non-existant. The acting is incredibly pointless and dire. The screenplay might just as well not exist - in fact, the actors could just stand there and let the CG dragons weave amongst them - it would be about as interesting as this film.
I regret the money I spent seeing this film. I was duped into it by the trailer, which has the entire action content of the film squeezed into 60 seconds. Don't see it. Please. Spare yourself the intense agony.
Quick Update - I find myself, 6 weeks after writing this opinion, offended to find that the production company have dared to advertise this horrendous thing on television. I am bombarded at every turn by the trailer (see above) whilst attempting to watch tv. Nothing can excuse this film, and I believe nothing should make anyone watch it. Please please please please don't!

Yes. Entirely out of annoyance. I was expecting a LOT more of the film that has been awaited some 20 years, and it just did not deliver.

Advantages: Sword fights was good and good fight between the dragons. Disadvantages: Not a very good plot, just as the title says, dungeons and dragons.
Advantages: good effects, interesting story. Richard O Brian and Marlon Wayans Disadvantages: if you don’t enjoy fantasy films you probably won’t like this
