Dumb And Dumber [1995]
Delivering exactly what its title promises, this celebration of stupidity was Jim Carrey's ... more
1994 follow-up toAce Ventura: Pet DetectiveandThe Mask. The film pairs the rubber-faced wacky man with Jeff Daniels as the not-so-dynamic duo of Lloyd and Harry, dunderheads who come into the possession of a briefcase containing ransom money that is intended for Mob-connected kidnappers. Lauren Holly co-stars as the woman who lost the briefcase, and with whom Carrey falls in love (both in real life and as his moronic on-screen character). As Lloyd and Harry make a mad dash to return the briefcase (never aware of its contents), the bumbling buddies attract Mobsters, cops, and trouble galore. This lowbrow laugh-a-thon scores some solid hits for hilarity, but with gags involving ill-fated parakeets, buxom bimbos, and an overdose of laxatives, be prepared to put your brain--and good taste--on hold.--Jeff Shannon

One of the funniest films. This is a great dvd. Its funny, has a good story line and is suitable for most families. This unrated version of the film has over 6 extra minutes added to the film, also deleted scenes, alternate endings, interviews with the stars, and trailers of when the film first came out. The film is about two friends who take a trip to Aspen to return a briefcase to a lady who left it at an airport. Along the way they run into trouble. ...

Advantages: Funny in places, good cast list Disadvantages: Not laugh-a-minute, overly crude
...Due to all the hype that had led up to the release of this film, I was particularly eager to see it. Not only did it have a good number of well-known actors in it, but it was also supposed to be very funny.
I was disappointed. Some bits of the film were overly rude and even though the film is funny in places, some very funny, it is not quite the same humour as you tend to find in other american movies nowadays.
When compared to some other movies such as Dumb and Dumber and South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut it really doesn't stand out as one of the greats in my opinions. And although other people might like it, I would recommend testing it out with a rental before you buy it in case you are disappointed.
The extra footage is also poor. There are next to no extra features and those that are that are not all that good anyway....
