Review of David Bowie - The Best Of Bowie DVD by  IanM73

Advantages: Great for any Bowie fan with all the hits
Disadvantages: No special features

...of the film Labrynth. Good mixture of footage from Davids black and white to the colour film. 4. Day-in day-out. Filmed in 1987. Fast beat track involving a woman trying to protect her baby in the streets, trying to protect her family. 5. Time will crawl. Filmed in 1987. Fast track with lots of 80's fashion with lots of dancing from Davids group in a stage background setting. 6. Never let me down. Filmed in 1987. Old American 50's style performing in a dance competition in this video. A good steady beat with black and white footage. 7. Fame '90 Filmed in 1990. This song is all about his fame over the years and the video has pictures from the early 70's to the then present day. Good upbeat track and thought out lyrics. 8. Jump they say. Filmed in 1993. This video was filmed with David on top of a tower block looking down... Read review

FROM ZIGGY TO THE THIN WHITE DUKE & BEYOND
Review of David Bowie - The Best Of Bowie DVD by  Ryan74

Advantages: Disc 1
Disadvantages: Disc 2

...It goes without saying that David Bowie is undoubtedly one of the twentieth century’s most important, iconic and influential artists. Certainly, it is hard to imagine what modern music would be like without him, such is the impact he has had. Bowie certainly knows how to knock out a tune or two, but how well does he fare on DVD? To accompany his most recent Greatest Hits collection (about which I have written a review, as I am always ready to plug my own work whenever necessary), he has released a DVD of the best of his music videos. The collection spans almost thirty years of work, from 1972’s ‘Oh! You Pretty Things’ all the way up to 1999 and ‘Survive’. Does the material stand the test of time? Unfortunately it is a bit of a mixed bag. You see, Bowie has had something of a varied career. You could certainly divide it into two halves... Read review

Review of Strictly Come Dancercize DVD by  memphisto_chick

Advantages: Fun, Great If You Are A Fan
Disadvantages: Fast Paced, A Little Confusing At Times.

...muscles. You will learn Mambo steps in this dance and these range from a simple step and replace to the African walks, which are really quite fun. Karen is a slower and more vocal teacher than Erin, she does have an encouraging attitude to her routine and this is good for someone who might need a little more motivation. The Salsa is full of sexy turns and full of hip swinging action and you get some great stretches here too and it comes across, even at this early stage as a workout that is great for increasing your cardio vascular capacity. Also important in this dance is the arm movements, but again, you may not feel able to go with the arm action straightaway. The Workout: Dancing to 'Feeling Hot Hot Hot', this is a great start for a workout; it really gets you in the mood. Karen, like Erin, takes you quite slowly and steady which... Read review
