Advantages: The fundamentals - Classic Big Band Style Jazz Disadvantages: Sound quality was poor
DukeEllington composed many interesting traditional jazz music suited at that time for big band style. Amongst the popular music he wrote were Mood Indigo, It Don't Mean A Thing, Caravan, Chelsea Bridge and many more. His compositions in my opinion were very radical compared to those of the traditional era which cause some people to dislike it. It applies more tension chords as ever, bringing in modern jazz concepts and adapting them in a traditional context.
He is however one of the legends in the field of jazz and although many do not know him, they have heard of him. Many of his songs are taken today and played in small group bands, trios and quartets and improvised to meet modern expectations.
I personally enjoyed the tracks because I am a jazz fanatic. What I didn't enjoy was the poor recording quality which is probably ...

Advantages: An amazing storyline, sweet, cute, sad everything you want in this kind of film! Disadvantages: The changes from the book...I wouldn't watch after just reading the book!!
I read the book PS I loveyou by Cecilia Ahern a good few years ago now, and loved it so much, and when the film came out, I was at first very excited, and then decided I didn't want to watch it since most of the time the film of books ruins the story!
So I didn't go watch it, but I was disappointed that I hadn't when I heard peoples reviews on the film, but by that time it was too late, and I had to buy it if I wanted to watch it, but as a poor student, I didn't have money to waste on DVDs. So my only thing to do was to wait until it came back on the movie channels...
it had been so long since I had read the book that the story really wasn't in my head anymore, apart from I knew that the story revolved around a man and wife, the man dying of a brain tumour and the wife been left to get over him.
Holly and Gerry have been ...
Advantages: Nice story, scenes of Ireland Disadvantages: Not as good as the book
This was definitely a case of loved the book and then was quite excited about it being made into a movie and then was let down and disappointed by the resulting movie. PS I LoveYou was a novel written by Irish novelist Cecelia Ahern and published in 2004. Cecelia is the daughter of the former Irish Taoiseach Bertie Ahern. The book reached #1 bestseller status in Ireland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, and the Netherlands. The movie version of the book was released in 2007 and stars Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler.
My biggest problem with the film was that they Americanised it and set it in New York, the lower side of East Manhattan whereas the book was set in Ireland. For me I think the setting of the book made it partly what it was. The writer is obviously Irish and I think the country and place conjours up a time ...
Two features. As a pianist, composer, and bandleader, jazz great Duke Ellington created a huge body of work that ranks among the greatest contributions to American music. Ellington's gift for combining blues simplicity, gospel emotion, and sophisticated musical themes is apparent in this double bill of Emmy-nominated programs from the Ralph J. Gleason archives. In 'Love You Madly', this biographical documentary is interspersed with interviews and live performances culled from such venues as the Basin St. West Jazz Club and the 1965 Monterey Jazz Festival. Also includes 'A Concert Of Sacred Music At Grace Cathedral' which was recorded on September 16, 1965, as the first of a three-part composition blending the secular with the spiritual.
