Duel At Ganryu Island (DVD)

Advantages: cute characters, good story, good songs too
Disadvantages: is one in a series, ali isn't all that hot

...whilst they leave the Great Valley and Littlefoot and his friends decide to take matters in their own hands by crossing the "big water" to an unknown island. At the Big water they encounter an old friend from The Land Before Time DVD number 2, he's called Chomper, the tiny friendly T-rex. Chomper has to protect the gang from his own carnivorous parents, which adds tension to the storyline as they have some really close calls! Plenty of drama in this one, you're sure to enjoy as we all did :) Some fantastic songs, although the graphics and cartoons are pretty much the same as the old style t.v. and video issues. It depends if you prefer this look, although I personally think they could have digitally remastered it a bit more. Of course not to the extent of finding nemo, but perhaps a nice intermediate. ...Where do I start with the excellent film that is Duel? Well it was perhaps unwise to start with my opinion of it; those of an impatient disposition might well be inclined to have already stopped reading at this point. But for those who crave insight, reasons as to my conclusion might be convenient and so it is with one of those that I shall start with. The first reason therefore being that Duel is possibly one of those most tension-packed films ever made. From the moment our protagonist, one David Mann, in his battered and aptly-named Plymouth Valiant, driving peacefully on a sunny Californian highway, starts to become to the target of a rusty Peterbilt truck, the tension never abates for one second. Advantages: Great Action
Disadvantages: Not Very Long

...starring dennis weaver as a man being chased by demon truck driver. one of my favourite films of all time with great chase scenes and a great ending. it all starts when a salesman in a red car overtakes a dirty old truck,then continues through long winding country roads until the duel at the end when the truck is forced over a cliff. there is a lot of tension in the chase scenes with plenty of tailgaiting. there is not much talking in the film but that does not spoil any of the action scenes.i think this is dennis weavers best performance & one of spielbergs best films. not much of a horror film but 80 minutes of great entertainment for all the family ....
