This film was first released in cinemas in the year 1999, when it was on at the cinema I was dying to see it but never got round to going. In 1999 I was a massive fan of TV show, Sabrina the teenage witch, with Sabrina herself starring a main role, the film looked awesome!
Now, 2001 I've gone off Sabrina! But yesterday when it came to sitting down and poppin a video on with my mate Laura, we chose this film. It seemed worth the watch, so why not!?
Melissa Joan Hart who plays Sabrina is called Nicole in this film and the whole movie is all about her next door neigbour Chase, who is played by Adrian Grenier. ~ Both are great actors.
Nicole and Chase have known each other since they were little kids, they've grown up together but as they've become older and maturer they have seemed to have grown a slight distance between them.
Now they are both high school students and Nicole loves fashion, friends and school spirit, however Chase seems a totally different image, he is into school protests, getting into trouble and hanging around in deep, dark coffee houses. They are totally different from one another.
From this point in the movie, it is totally clear that these two are going to hook up so I might as well let that cat out of the bag! ~ Even though they seem totally different!
As the totally predictable storyline continues, Chase is dumped by fellow girlfriend and Nicole is turned down by her dream lad. With the school centennial celebration approaching fast both Chase and Nicole decide to hook up in desperate need to get their loved ones back.
With Nicole totally changing Chase into a decent person who doesen't dress like a grunger and detest school, things seem hard but as the story carried on they find their un dying love towards each other just in time for the dance.
I think I've given just about all the plot away but then the story was so predictable, most people probably knew it anyway! Melissa's and Adrian's performance was outstanding but as for some of the other actors, they were appaling!
The film is basically another US teen romance, based around prom night. Having seen many of these now, this surely has to be the worst! Featuring Briteny Spears single, 'You Drive Me Crazy' the combination of pop music used is c**p. Hence, Briteny Spears single was the title of the film, Melissa Joan Hart also stars in the video of the track too.
Many people have compared Melissa's role of Nicole to Cher from Clueless, again another US teen romance, chic flic film! This film is no where as near as good as that one though!
Finally, I'll conclude with 'This Film Drives Me Crazy'. If you want to rent a video out for a nice girly night in, although you may want this one, I say don't bother, there are many others available and as for buying it, don't even go there! The only positive thing about the whole film is the appearance of Sabrina! ~ Who I hope to see in films in the future! Thanks for reading. ~M~

Sorry to only rate it helpful but it just didn't have enough info for me. You seem to concentrate a little too much on the story and although you don't give the plot away (plus point for that) I didn't feel that you went into enough detail on the other aspects of the film. Maybe it's the rising Ciao standards but I've just seen better film reviews than this. Don't get me wrong, it's good (borderline VH) but it just didn't have that extra something. Sorry =:(
