A collection worth owning
Review of The BBC TV Shakespeare Collection DVD by pumpkinfeatures

Advantages: A timeless collection, with a lot for your money.
Disadvantages: Seems a lot of money.

...a fantastic box set, almost The Complete Works of Shakespeare in DVD form! The range and sheer volume of plays which is covered in this box set is phenomenal. The quality of the acting is incredible, and the plays, although all in the seemingly confusing Shakespearean language are accessible due to the talent of the actors and their outstanding performances. I cannot claim to have seen every one of the plays in this collection, however the majority, ...
...my school we were shown the BBC versions of whatever play we were studying at the time. Although some, like 'King Lear', have times similar to the sections on the heath which drag, the relationships between the characters and their warped intentions are cleverly but boldly outlined. The viewer is never at a loss as to what is going on, not least because of some clever use of costume, where characters are teemed in matching or complimenting colours ... Read review
