...i finally picked it up. The film starts off at an aristocratic ball at Naomi's house and ends in some remote part of China,that is how diverse the film is. The film explores the relation of a newly wedded couple, a spontaneous marriage that happened in a matter of few days( Norton had to return for his research to Shanghai and Naomi badly wanted to escape from her terrible parents, so decided to marry Norton and go away and lead a new life). She ... ...a beautiful love story between the lead characters. Norton has to leave for a cholera affected village, and it is upto her to join him or not. What follows is a beautifully scripted and fluently performed piece of film.The story steadily unveils, building up the love story. Hera Pheri is certainly Priyadarshan's finest hindi film and is certainly one of the best comedies to come out from india. This is a great example of how a film can still work big time despite having a simple and thin plot,thanks to its characters and fantastic dialogues. The basic plot is simple.One day,Babu rao gets a misplaced call from a man who says he has kidnapped his grandchild and wants ransom money.WHen Baburao and his two tenants realise ... ...calling the real person and pretending as the kidnappers. In the whole mix of earning the extra money,they are ready to go to any extent and the twists and turns in the script follows a funny and joyful ride.The characterisation of the three principal characters are fabulous and somewhat deep considering its a comedy.The comedy is slapstick and mostly depends on the improvisation and execution of the actors. The film begins in a hospital with Caroline and her mother, her mother is dying with only a few hours to live. She suddenly tells Caroline the tale of Mr Gateux (or Mr Cake) and his train station clock, the clock runs backward, and this prompts Caroline's mother to ask Caroline to read from a diary she has in her suitcase. Advantages: Fun and Entertaining Disadvantages: Predictable storyline
This is quite a nice romantic comedy about a successful professional woman Kenya McQueen played by Sanaa Lathan moving up high on the corporate ladder, but along with her friends still looking out for love and not having much success. Then she goes on a blind date and meets her soul mate Brian Kelly played by Simon Baker only he doesn't fit Kenya's idea of the ideal man. The rest of the movie deals with how Kenya has to battle her own growing feelings ... ...approval from her family and friends. A further spanner is thrown in the works when a new love interest turns up and Kenya has to decide whether she's going to go with her heart or her head.
I didn't find this wildly hilarious but it was entertaining. The plot is pretty much predictable there's no surprise in how the story will end but it is nice to see the story through to the end. Sanaa Lathan does come across well as the uptight executive who ...
