The Munich massacre - its aftermath, as noted by Spielberg
Advantages: Incredibly powerful drama in places
Disadvantages: Takes too long to get anywhere
Munich is a poignant and dramatic, slow-moving Spielberg film that has at its core the effects and fallout from the 1972 Munich Olympic Games massacre. Members of the Israeli Olympic team were taken hostage and eventually killed by a group known as Black September, reported to have ties to a militant group linked to the Fatah organisation.

Munich is a film I recommend watching. I am glad I saw it, although I probably wouldn't bother again. It is available from amazon.co.uk for £3.90 at the moment. ...

Amistad - a true epic
Advantages: An all-round epic with a good storyline and good acting
Disadvantages: Possibly not always historically-accurate
The movie is based on a historical 1839 legal battle which took place in the United States, after a group of slaves took control of a small ship, "La Amistad", and ended up on the shores of the New World, instead of their homes in Africa. Disadvantages: bit slow in middle

If you see one film in your life...this is it
Advantages: Gritty, dark and realistic.. you feel like you are there
