If you see one film in your life...this is it
Advantages: Gritty, dark and realistic.. you feel like you are there
Disadvantages: It is one of the few films I wished that could have been longer than three hours
There are some things in life you will always remember and I think this film is one of those things. I went to see it originally in the opening week of its cinematic release. I had heard about this film and was very interested to see it because I have a huge interest in the holocaust and what led to it happening. THE COLOUR PURPLE
Advantages: a great film
Disadvantages: lots of tears
...it is about it, probebly the thought of what the main charater is going through, but thats how life really was for some people back then. One of the big things that draw me to this film is my love of Whoopie Goldburg. I can not think of one film that she has done that does'nt appeal to me. The 14 year old child had a baby by her violent father, as soon as the baby was born he took the baby from her gving it away to god knows who.
How could any child deal with that, not once but twice.

Artificiality
Advantages: Good graphics, very involving
Disadvantages: Disturbing, far too long
This film was shown on television a while ago, and although I had heard the name of the film several times, I really had no idea what it was actually about. I was certainly expecting some sort of robot film, but from there my ideas of what the film was about turned out to be dreadfully wrong.
