A Force To Be Reckoned With

Advantages: Very entertaining view of a period of history
Disadvantages: ...although its not very factual

Forgettable, but there's been worse

Advantages: occassional funny moments
Disadvantages: predictable, corny, goldie hawn

...an infamous groupie duo in the 60s and 70s. Whilst Sarandon's character has since settled down to raise a family and buy a pool, Hawn is still a washed-up old actress who is uncomfortable being seen under bright lights...sorry - Hawn's character still does everything she can to keep up her groupie spirit. ...and isn't really integrated with the main chaos in a way that makes you laugh, or care. The end of the movie also commits a sin by falling into the same trap as a lot of disposable cinema - trying to make a point. Review of The Banger Sisters (DVD)

Hero or Villan?

Advantages: Superbly shot
Disadvantages: Absolutely nothing

...however we eventually settled on Ned Kelly, shoved it in the player and sat back to watch. Now vaguely remembering watching this film before I knew it was going to be good but my dad, not really being a fan of 'modern films' as he puts it wasn't exactly expecting much. I am pleased to say however that once again daughters film choice prevailed and even he had to admit that it was pretty damn good. The DVD itself contains a plethora of special features ...
...a documentary on the real Ned Kelly, trailors, storyboards and poster concepts. All of these features are interesting to watch, especially the documentary - "The Real Ned Kelly", as they add further depth to the film.
