Tess - Not Quite A Period Romp

Advantages: a touching and tragic love story
Disadvantages: at 3 hours some might find it too lengthy

Tess, which was released in 1979, was adapted from the Thomas Hardy novel entitled "Tess of the D'Urbervilles". It's the 3rd film adaptation of the book and having not seen the other two, I can't say how good or bad they are, but I quite enjoyed this one. ...
