My #1 favourite film of all time.

Advantages: Great performances and a great story.
Disadvantages: None.

Many people think Sam Mendes's first movie American Beauty was his best as it won all the oscars including Best Director for himself. But I disagree. The story is about Michael Sullivan (Tom Hanks), a lifelong gangster who is on the run with his son with a sadistic hitman (Jude Law) on hot pursuit. A sequel worth watching!!!

Advantages: Fantastically acted, great style and charisma about the film

The Hustler: Deceptively enthralling

Advantages: Exciting pool sequences, gripping romance and intriguing storyline
Disadvantages: Poor visuals at times and shot in black and white

Advantages: Historical drama of the first order
Disadvantages: At 3 hr, 28 min, perhaps a tad too long
