Anna and the King personal view
Advantages: Great storyline, fantastic acting and good action shots
Disadvantages: Will not please die hard King and I fans

The Film is based on the diaries of Anna Leonowens, who died in Canada, Quebec from a stroke in 1915.
I think this is better than the original (King and I) despite my fondness of musicals. The acting is superb and there is a huge cast of extras.
I can't imagine how difficult this was to make a film with the costumes (that are superb) and locations involved.

Death is HOT!!!!!
Advantages: Excellent acting, great story

Ludlow's Legend
Advantages: Excellent story and acting, amazing scenery and music

The President Can Bomb Anybody He Likes
Advantages: Gripping, Great Acting, Insightful
Disadvantages: Poor Special Features
...less. His performance as Nixon is outstanding, he really gets into the character. He may not look all that much like the man himself, but he has his mannerisms down to a tee. It is in my opinion an Oscar winning performance.
The film is quite fragmented, it moves around in time quite a lot. In a lesser directors hands it would have gone out of control, but Stone keeps it all together. For example, often the film will go back to Nixon as a child ...

Nixon is certainly an intriguing and historically important person. His paranoia with bugs and his famous enemies list, Cuba, the Vietnam war and bombing of Cambodia, Watergate and much more make for rich material for a film like this, and make the three hours pass by very quickly.
Of course, with a film such as this as with JFK, not all of the facts are entirely clear. I would say that the film appears to be a fairly balanced ...
