Stop breaking my balls

...be alone in saying that The Sopranos TV series is one of the best dramas i have ever seen and no doubt in the top 5 US TV exports in recent years. It has everything you could want from a mob drama with just superb acting, writing and direction in possibly every episode. As a treat to myself, i recently re-started watching my Sopranos dvds again with my girlfriend who used to moan about me watching this now recommends we put it on, progress! Not sure ...

The Mighty Sharon Stone?
Advantages: Well acted. Heart warming story.
Disadvantages: Soppy and sentimental.
The Plot

Max (Elden Henson) is a teenage outcast with learning difficulties. He is bullied and has no friends. One day, brainy kid Kevin (Kieran Culkin) and his mum (Sharon Stone) move in next door. Kevin too is an outcast. He is a bit of a geek and due to some illness has a feeble body.
Max initially rejects Kevin's advances of friendship until Kevin becomes his reading tutor. Kevin's enthusiasm for the first time brings stories alive ...
...neither is any match for the bullies but together they discover they are stronger. They call themselves "Freak The Mighty". No longer are they limited by their disabilities and together are able to enjoy the delights of childhood they had never before been able to experience due to their limitations. Advantages: Characters, Tension.
Disadvantages: Not for everyone.

Sopranos Season 6 - Wha' cha gonna do?
Advantages: Brilliant directing and acting
Disadvantages: Very fast paced, can be hard to keep up
...a fantastic kick start to the season and really performed in true Soprano style.
Unlike many TV shows which tend to deteriorate the longer they go on, Sopranos Season Six lives up to it's true form and is consistent throughout. At the end of episode one Tony is shot by his uncle Junior who's continuing to lose his marbles and has been for some time now.
The following two episodes continue with Tony in a coma in critical condition with little chance ...
...to make it back in the movie industry and produce a Saw/Godfather II slasher movie called Cleaver.
In episode 2 and 3 whilst Tony is in his coma we see him playing a series of events in his mind where it seems he's being shown the way to Heaven maybe? Murder and blackmail Coen-style
Advantages: Superb acting, both tragic and blackly funny
Disadvantages: None
...I at least remember what the plot is. One thing I could remember about it was that it was directed by the Coen brothers, and although I have watched one or two bad Coen films, they are generally pretty good. So I decided to give it another try. Thank goodness I did. I'm not sure whether I was drunk the first time I watched it or what, but this is a film that I really enjoyed and thought had some superb performances.
