Advantages: great acting, plot and script Disadvantages: It can get a bit boring
I remember when Big Fish just came out. I didn't want to see it in the theatres at the time , because quite frankly it just didn't seem like my type of film. However, it was when it premiered on cable and well, there was nothing else around to watch, boredom drove me to watch it, and till this day I didn't regret watching it at all. It was a magnificent film. Not many films like this are around now so I think I'll also call it unusual and unique. ... ...young man who realises he that he knows almost nothing about his father; so he remembers stories and myths his father told him throughout the years and comes to a realisation that they really were metaphorical and end up reliving them as events in his father's life.

Advantages: Happy Ending Disadvantages: The story-line is nothing we haven't seen before.
Erin Brockovich is a trashy singgle mother who is not able to get a job because of her little experience. One day while driving she gets hit by another car and which is how she meet and convinced her lawyer to giver her a job. She uncovers evidence that implies that a local factory is poisoning the water supply and hiding it for the local residents. Erin then digges up enough evidence to kick the factorys fat behind and restore the local residents ... ...does not seem realistic that Erin manages to keep her job for as long as she did while dressing like she did and swearing at her boss which should realistically lead to her unemployment. Most of the Characters were well played out however it would have been more entertaining to see more girl fights with Erin and her colleges. Because lets be honest a movie about companies gone bad is not exactly the most entertaining concept we could think of. However ...

Advantages: Return to form for Tim Burton, magical whimsy with real heart Disadvantages: Occassional very brief slow patches, but virtually no complaints
...would have you believe that Big Fish marks a huge departure for director Tim Burton. But while visually this may be true, in essence this heartwarmingly surreal tale of loneliness, inability to fit in, and struggling with being misunderstood by the world make this perfect Burton material. And recovering from his shaky Planet of the Apes remake, he delivers his most mature work so far.
Edward Bloom [Albert Finney] has always told tall tales about ... ...The driving force of Big Fish is its characters and the casting is simply superb. Finney's scenes were apparently filmed first, allowing McGregor to watch and assimilate some of his mannerisms into his younger portrayal. Crudup is able to amply portray Will's frustration as he finds himself unable to connect with his father. And the resemblance between the wonderful Lange and Lohman as the younger and older versions of Edward's wife is uncanny. McGregor ...

Advantages: Its Excellent Disadvantages: quite graphic
...The Concept
Traffic is a really intelligent look at the world of drug trafficking and offers a broad scale of insight. We see the trafficking process from its beginning in Mexico where attempts at its deterrence are much beleaguered by corruption, through to America's infinitely more constitutional attempt at tackling the problem. We are also the given the chance to see the happy upper class lives of those responsible for the drugs distribution ... ...the street and its effect on individuals and their families. The film involves countless harrowing scenes of habitual drug use and lacks the glamour with which drugs are all too often associated with these days. The flagrant snorting of cocaine and disturbing scenes involving both the smoking and injecting of Heroine are intensely compelling and the audience is not patronised or guarded from the rawness of these acts in any way. This makes the film ...

Advantages: Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney work so well together Disadvantages: Slightly depressing...and too long!
...seems to be split into two sections- the happier first secion and the darker second. Arguement after arguement becomes rather monotonous in the second half, but the loveness of the pairing of Hepburn and Finney shines through. As always, Hepburn acts as rather a clothes horse during the film, and here we see her in a range of Mary Quant outfits, epitomising the 60's era. The film has many great locations from around Europe, and a lush and continual ... ...perfect direction to make this film such a memorable one, and change to what the audience would come to expect from an Audrey Hepburn picture. Sadly for Hepburn fans there are no extras on the DVD. It would have been nice to see some form of short documentary. ...
