Tom cruise character is a hotshot JAG corp lawyer who is brouht into the case as he has a tendancy to plea bargain. ...and the movie is not a thriller, but he scares me! Now Demi, she just grates on me, and I dont know why, her lines seem forced and she comes accross as uncomfortable. Not just this film I must add, but in general I just cant get past it. It had a slightly negative impact on the movie for me, but it was short lived as the other characters manage to pull her out from it and her scenes are not as bad as long as you dont focus on her too much. Cheerio Arms

Advantages: You don't have arms anymore
Disadvantages: Why would you to start with? You drive a frickin ambulance

So A Farewell to Arms. I bought this DVD to further my research for ENglish Literature and paid bout 99p for it. It's your typical "Ooooh I love you darling" "Ooooh I love you too darling" Kind of story that dominated the golden era of Hollywood. It's nice enough in that manner. ...romance. The book is also a bit more exciting. The film misses out the interesting parts were the two Ambulance men run away and it makes the Italian doctor out to be the bad guy. Big Jack leads the way!

Advantages: Some great lines in some great scenes
Disadvantages: Ummmm...

...give the film enough of a balance that it needs. I've always been a fan of Rob Reiner and going into serious territory, instead of his more lighthearted projects, worked for me. Yes it IS Madding - not Maddening !!

Advantages: A beautiful film

Review of Far From The Madding Crowd (DVD)

Underwater London!

Advantages: Great visual effects
Disadvantages: some silly ideas in places

...a jet to bomb the flood barrier. Sorry mate but that would be a senior RAF officers job, not yours. The best things about this movie are the supporting cast who make the film what it is and the excellent effects and visuals of the actual flood itself. The fact that it's inter-cut with shots of real floods in England makes for even more realism. I agree with people who asked why they didn't tell people to try & find tall buildings to seek shelter ...
...less than 2 hours is just a joke. The fact that the Met Office weren't issuing warnings to London as soon as Wick was flooded was a bit silly but they were just trying to create a scapegoat character which Nigel Planer played very well. So well in fact his character commits suicide out of sheer shame.
